This is not meant to be offensive to anyone who DOES love THG, but these are my thoughts on it.

I hate this series. I hate everything about it. I really feel like no one sees the injustice of the series. This is literally kids, being forced to kill each other. Forced. None of them wanted to be turned into murderers. But they had to. And they were there for literally no other reason except for entertainment for the Capitol. Yes, I know that if you win the hunger games you get food and honor and recognition and blah blah blah but there's hardly any probability of winning.

Maybe the last two books get better, less horrifying, but I only read the first one and don't want to waste my time.

Okay so please don't be offended by my rant, but I am allowed to have opinions and I do have the right to express those opinions.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I kinda agree. That was the first teen book I read and now I am scared ot go into the teen section of the library. It's well writen, I'll say that.  But I don't like killing.

Um, have you even read the books? The books are about defeating the Capitol, who is forcing them to kill each other. The book is about the injustice of the series.

I think that you should read a book carefully before ranting about it.

That's what I originally said, that the books being about the Capitol forcing them to kill each other is what makes me not like it. Did I actually get anything in my first comment factually wrong?

And what are you talking about? I DID read the book. I wouldn't be on this thread if I hadn't.

What I don't like about it the fact that they're killing each other, just for entertainment for the Capitol. I guess reading about children killing each other for no reason at all doesn't really appeal to me, but that's fine if you like it. I'm not trying to insult anyone.

I'm not offended; It's not my favorite book. However, they need a villain. That's like saying that you don't like Harry Potter because Voldemort is evil, or you don't like Warriors because Brokenstar is cruel.

I didn't say that I didn't like it because the Capitol was evil. A story isn't a story without a good villain, and in THG that just happened to be the Capitol. What I meant was that I was upset with the sheer amount of deaths, and the fact that most of those kids died for practically no reason at all.

That's still saying that you hate Warriors because Brokenstar killed too many kits, or Voldemort murdered too many wizards and Muggles.

But most of the deaths in those books were important to the plot and made sense, while in THG like everyone died for no reason at all. In those books, the characters weren't pitted against each other and ordered to murder everyone.

Awesome name! ~SPOILER ALERT!~ Also, just let me tell you, when Finnick died, I was crying my eyes out. (In the book and movie) I usually am not that emotional when it comes to literature, but that was just too sad for me. My feelings- SAD! Ugg, they could of at least spared Finnick! Okay, I'm gonna go before I start crying.

The first book was great (not the killing) and then the books get worse … it took me two days to finish Mockingjay just because I hated it so much. I haven't seen any of the movies.

I agree- they progressively get a small bit worse.

I LOVE this series! I really enjoyed the action-packed way it was written, I loved listening in on Katniss's thoughts, and I totally ship Keeta! I'm only on the second book, and I'm restraining myself from reading the third until I watch the second movie. I do agree that the killing in the areana is cold-blooded, but I think it also encourages you to loathe the Capitol even more, and cheer on the rebels. Hopes and dreams, the only ones I have about the hunger games is that I get to watch the second movie!  ;)

Luna says  hnmf. What, are you not a hunger games fanwolf?

*YE- I mean NO.*

Hi Shadowmoon! I liked the narration too! Katniss is a great character. Wait, isn't it Peeta, not Keeta?
