Chatterbox: Blab About Books

What are you reading...
Right now? I'm...

Right now? I'm reading (a) some old Cricket Mags I found in my dad's classroom (b) the last book in the Secrets od the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series (I recommend it- while the writing is mediocre and sometimes overly epicly-unepic, the story is amazing -- good enough that I've made it to the last book:) Oh, and (c) I'm flipping here and there through What Einstein Told His Cook -- its a book about the science of cooking, preciesely what I love:)

So, what is everyone else enjoying?

Ellie and Admin: I believe that she was referring to Savage Sam, which is the sequel to Old Yeller.

Thanks, Nora.

I'm reading The Riverman by Aaron Starmer. Also, I just finished all three books in the Winston Breen series.

Seriously, read the Winston Breen trilogy (by Eric Berlin). You will not regret spending approximately three hours of your time to do so.

Just got through rereading Everblaze by Shannon Messenger. (Which was just as epic the second run through as the first! I STILL couldn't put it down!)

I'm currently reading A Break With Charity by Ann Rinaldi (who is one of my favorite authors) and A Journey North: One Woman's Story of Hiking the Appalachian Trail by Adrienne Hall. I've also been trying to get through ArchEnemy by Frank Beddor (the final book in The Looking Glass Wars trilogy) for like a year now though I keep getting pulled away, plus I started the second Unwanteds book awhile ago and I gotta get back to that too.

All Things Wise and Wonderful by James Herriot. I love his books, absoloutely love them! In fact my first post, about a year ago, was about his first book, All Creatures Great and Small but that was under the name I used to use (my real name). Anyways, I love his books!

I just finished reading A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. It's one of my favorite classics, and I've read it so many times over.

Now, I'm in the middle of The Romanov Sisters: The Lost Lives of the Daughters of Nicholas and Alexandra by Helen Rapport. It's a nonfiction book about  Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia who were Russian royalty captured and killed in the Russian Revolution in the early 1900s. I'm also reading Ever After by Karen Kingsbury, oneof my favorite authors. The final book I am reading now is Pollyanna by Eleanor Hodgson Porter. I'd recommend Pollyanna to anyone who likes Anne of Green Gables. The two books have striking and lovable main characters and great story lines!

Teresa, have you read the Family Romanov? Its a great nonfiction book about (you guessed it) The Romanov family and Russia leading up to World War 1. I highly recommend it!

@Teresa: I love Anne of Green Gables! Have you read the sequels? There's Anne of the Island and Anne's House of Dreams. There's another one, but I don't know the title.

The books I'm reading are:

#1: Percy Jackson and the Heros of Olympus, Book one, (The Lost Hero) (I've read #2 and #3, but the school library didn't have #1) by Rick Riordan.

#2: The Keepers of the School: #1: We the Children, by Andrew Clements. He's one of my most favorite authors, and he wrote a lot of cool books: Frindle, The School Story, etc...

#3: The Dragonriders of Pern: The Harper Hall Triology: Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums, by Anne McCaffrey. I would recommend this series to people who like futuristic/science-fiction/dragon/heroine/music/humor books.

#4: The Fellowship of the Ring (sequel to The Hobbit), by JRR Tolkien.

I know of Anne of Avonlea and Anne of Windy Poplars, if I remember right.

I just finished a bunch of books (a lot of the Warriors books, Forge, a series of short stories, and the Hourglass series) and all I have now are two books: Fallout by Todd Strasser, and Sunrise by Erin Hunter.

I actually met Todd Strasser a few years ago! I got his autograph too. It was pretty cool.

If you like the Warriors series, you should also read the Wings of Fire Series.

@Nora: That's amazing!!! His books are really good, and I've never gotten and autograph before.

@St.Owl: The first Warriors book is called Into the Wild, if that helps.
