Harry Potter Trivia
Open to all...
Open to all Potterheads!!!!
Here are the rules:
-You have to have read all the books.
-DO NOT comment until you can see the latest comment. We don't want to get mixed up.
-No questions that aren't in the series; e.x: what's Hermione's favorite food?
-NO CONSULTING THE BOOKS. IT'S CHEATING.
I think the rest is self-explanitory; you answer the trivia question, then post one of you own.
Question: Name all 7 Horcruxes.

@Hedwig
Wasn't it training where Snape opened Harry's mind and Harry tried to stop it? I'm probably completely wrong since I focus on the good things in a book-not the detentions. Except for books like The Hunger Games..WHOOPS ALMOST STARTED RANTING THERE!!! (Please note:I do not, in any way, dislike the Hunger Games-well, I do dislike parts of Mockingjay. But who doesn't?)
@Mei
I completely agree that everyone wants everyone to be whites--but that's mainly because America is full of white people.
I promise I'll add Asians into my newest book, along with....I don't really know a polite way to say it, since literally every word for it is called racist these days......Um, people with black skin.
I'm sososososo sorry if that sounded racist-WE'RE ALL HUMANS! But I just don't know how to say it that sounds less racist.....
Anyways, It's getting late and the Admins probably are getting mad at me for discussing racism. Sorry Admins.....but at least it wasn't religion? (Whoops, that was a bold comment...)
It's OK to discuss religion if you are respectful of the beliefs of others who may differ from you.

I think we can say African-American, unless something happened to make that inappropriate that I don't know about...
(June 11, 2016 - 6:52 am)
I have a friend who is black and from another country (somewhere in Europe, I think) who gets REALLY ticked off when people start to say she's black then stumble and say "African American" because she's like, "Look, I am NOT American, and African-American is not just a polite way of saying black, because it only applies to Americans and you can just call me black, thank you very much, because that's what I am." Maybe that's just her, but you have to be careful, because African-American might not always be the right term. Although in some cases, I guess, people do prefer the term African-American. I don't know, I've never been in a situation where someone is called black and says no, I am African-American.

Duly noted. Also, I'm a Christian, so I respect basically everyone's religions. You don't have to worry about it :) I'll be careful.

@Ballet!
Also, I think that the studies are wrong. I only imagined Cho Chang, Pavarti, and Padma as my race.
(June 8, 2016 - 4:31 pm)
Parvati and Padma are Indian names, though.
(June 8, 2016 - 9:45 pm)
Parvati is an Indian name. In the movies, they pronounced it Pavarti.
Also, Cho Chang's last name was pronounced wrong. It's Chong, not Chayng.
(June 10, 2016 - 8:35 pm)
Oh, I see what you mean.
By some definitions, Indian is Asian.
(June 11, 2016 - 9:06 am)
I have many Indian friends from school, and their opinion on being Asian or not varies.
Example One: Someone was describing a person and described them as Asian, and someone else laughed because they're like that's about half the school. My friend who is Korean was like "well at least you didn't say Chinese because a lot of people do that and assume that all Asians are defined as Chinese, even if they're actually Japanese or Korean or Vietnamese. A lot of people assume that anyone who looks Asian is "Chinese." And one of my really good friends, who is Indian, was like, hey, we're Asian too. And someone was like, no, we're talking about.....*here they struggle for words* Asianese. Everyone started laughing...."Asianese?" "I made that up. It's also known as 'people mistaken for Chinese'"
Example two: We had to do a project where we got with a partner, told each other about our cultures, then presented each other's cultures. One kid was partnered up with someone who was Indian, and included a list of what their partner said were common misconceptions about their culture. One of them was that "We are Asian."
So I guess it depends on the person.

Harry Potter takes place in England, where a large majority of the population is white—Over 90 percent. Also, Hermione's race was never specified in the books, it only said she had brown hair and large front teeth.
(June 13, 2016 - 2:26 pm)
I dunno. It's definitely true for me, but as I am white, and a large population of the place where I live is white, I tend to image people mostly as white. But as I said, that's just me.
Also, the Golden Snidget is correct!
(June 8, 2016 - 8:03 pm)
It may be true for whites, as I remember picturing a of me before I changed my name. They were so innacurate, since everyone assumed I was white.
The only nonAsian CBer I picture as Asian is Cho Chang, but she WANTS to be imagines like that, so…

Here's a trivia question-- what is the name of Lavender Brown's baby rabbit? Sorry if that's too easy. I'll think up a better one later.
Ginger says 'itki'. Good guess, Ginger, but no. That would actually make a good character name though, with a few tweaks. ;)
