RICK RIORDAN HAS ANNOUNCED HIS NEW NORSE MYTHOLOGY SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, okay, breathe.
So Rick Riordan today announced the coming of his new Norse mythology series, Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard of which the first book will be released Fall 2015! I AM SO FREAKING EXCITED! I've just lost my vigor for Heroes of Olympus, so I have high hopes for this series, and I really just want a clean slate. Fingers crossed!

Name = Magnus = Happy Theo
Still, I don't know. I've been having a lot of angry conversations with friends about Mr. Riodian lately. Heros of Olympus was just... no. This will be good though...? I'll probably end up reading it. TRYING NOT TO FORM NEGATIVE OPINIONS BEFORE IT COMES OUT. Okay, when I do do that and it's good, then I'm usually more happy.
Anyways, happy with main characters name. Please continue naming characters accordingly.

I was so sad that it won't be about Percy WE WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO HIM!!!!!!! I DON'T TRUST THE ROMANS!!!!!!!! i didn't like Heros of Olympus either. It seemed like Rioridan lost his touch.

Agreed. It almost felt forced by the end. And I wanted a sacrifice! Like Luke! So sad there wasn't one.
I don't know about the name Magnus, actually. It's better than Percy (I had grave doubts about a hero named Percy when I first picked up The Lightning Thief), but still, isn't it a bit highfalutin' for a character that is supposedly a normal young boy? Though if it's setting a trend, I wouldn't mind seeing where that trend goes.

Hm. To be honest, I think Rick Riordan had a good idea with Heroes of Olympus, and the first couple books were pretty decent, but he bombed when it came to Blood of Olympus. That book is just wrong on so many levels. Like...the ending???? Seriously? What type of cheesy, cliche thing was that? Give me a break.
And then, WHY DID NO ONE DIE EXCEPT FOR OCTAVIAN? The prophecy was all "someone's gonna die," but all we got was Octavian. And no one likes him. And that part where Leo came all back to life was just plain troll, in my opinion. Rick Riordan loves his Seven waaaayyyy too much. There a whole cast of possibly amazing characters in PJO and HoO that could really become great with a bit of development (Bianca? Zoe? Bob?), but nope, they all die for the sake of the precious Seven.
Everrine, I totally agree with you. Magnus is a bit too much for a name. Plus, on Goodreads, it says something about Magnus being some homeless guy runnning aruond on the streets when his mom's dead. Then, an uncle (?) comes up and tells him he's the son of a Norse god. Holy cow. Just...what in the world?

The ending of BoO felt too comfy for an end-of-series book. No one dying except for Octavian was disappointing. Leo coming back to life just managed to be all right, because Piper believing he was alive can be passed off as an acceptable explanation, but the endings for everyone seemed too pat. Rick always talks about not liking epilogues becuase they tie everything up too well, but that's what I feel he did anyway, telling us Annabeth's and Percy's future and all that. I wouldn't have minded a little more irritating vagueness.

Yeah, I kind of see what you mean. Although I hate books that don't give you the ending, usually.

I am a HUGE Rick Riordan fan. Do you know where I can find a list of all of his books? I have read the Kane Chronicles, the Percy Jackson series, and the Heroes of Olympus.
