I have a
Chatterbox: Blab About Books
I have a couple of friends who agree with me on this, so I don't feel as weird saying this as I would otherwise: I really don't like Harry Potter. I'm sorry, all you Harry Potter lovers (Potterheads?), but this has to be said: honestly, the books are 2 dimensional. They basically have the same plot, that's basically "Oh my god, Voldemort's alive again and gonna kill us all! Oh, wait, he won't, because Harry will save us!" Seven times. Seven times. The first few times it was ok, but then it just got super repetitive.
and I also don't like Divergent. I mean, the plot and world building is great, but I don't really like Veronica Roth's writing that much.
so what about you guys? Any popular books that you don't like? Or will you please explain to me why everyone likes these books so much?

I think people like Harry Potter for the creativity. Not really the plot, but the magic and stuff (LATIN!!).
I myself am a Potterhead!!!

To add to this list:
Maximum Ride. I first couple of books were ok, but the last few were just plain ridiculous. And also I don't like them just on principle, since James Patterson uses ghost writers for a lot of his books, so they're not actually technically his books.
39 clues. I don't know why, but the whole rich grandma dies, go on a quest for inheritances seems really cliched to me.

I read the first few Maximum Rides than couldn't figure out which one came next.
My family and I are listning to 39 Clues in the car. I don't really like them either.
Also INfinity Ring, which is the same concept as 39 Clues (books with an online game), except with time travle. They're written by diffrent authors, and the backs even look the same.
Twilight is REALLY EVIL. By evil I mean full of blah romance and with no intresting bits, and loved by teenage girls everywhere.
For no particular reason, I detest things loved by teenage girls, like Justin Beiber and Instagram.
Except David Tennant.
I do not detest David Tennant in any way, shape, or form.

I don't know how anyone could dislike David Tennant. I know a few people who say they don't like him, but they haven't seen anything but the Matt Smith seasons.
And by the way, you will find many tennaged girls, including myself on here that hate Twilight.

WHAT? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE???
That's good!!!
Well, seeing as I am almost a teenage girl (almost teenaged, I'm already a girl), I shall count myself among them! :)

OK, I've heard that Divergent is just a big copy of the Hunger Games. Can anyone else prove this true? Also, I think The Hunger Games was a wonderfully written book, but the plot was definitely very sad.

No, it's not a rip-off (as far as I can tell). It's just REALLY bad.

A lot of people think it is good.
A lot of people also think that Twilight is good.
A lot of people think that One Direction is awesome.
This goes to show that popularity dose not always mean that something is good.

I decided to read some John Green books, so I picked up An Abundance of Katherines. I was...unimpressed. I read the whole thing, but it was kind of uninteresting. I liked the idea of the theorem graphing relationships, but that was, like, the only thing. I honestly thought the flashbacks were wayyyyyyy more interesting than the story currently going on.

Harry Potter: I enjoyed this series, but I see what you mean. It is pretty repetitive.
Divergent: Most people love it, but I don't understand it. It is boring and overall, not a fun read.
Twilight: Once again, I don't understand the big hype over this series. I read part of the first book, and although the writing isn't bad, the plot is pretty boring.
The Fault in Our Stars: I haven't read this, but from what I've gathered about it, it doesn't seem all that great.
The Hunger Games: This is a pretty gory idea for a series, isn't it? A bunch of kids must fight each other for food.
Sorry if anyone loves these books!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: I hate them. They increase my anxiety and make me feel sick.
The Mazerunner: Great plot and action, but so far I don't like the writing.
Dork Diaries: I just find them really dumb. It's full of OMG, Does that cute boy like me? Squeeeeee!
The Wind In the Willows: I couldn't get into it. I thought it was really boring. Maybe I should give it another try.
Top!
