THE HARRY POTTER THREAD!
OK. The fact that NOBODY has written in about Harry Potter scares me. What's wrong with everybody?! I like the Harry Potter books. I need to reread them though. My mom read me them when I was like 8 so I barely remember what happened. Did you like the ending to the last book? Lots of people hated it but I loved it-so happy ^_^ By the way I like your comments on the evolution vs creation pg in Down to Earth. Please write back!

I, too, love Harry Potter! J. K. Rowling is an awesome artist, and the series in not overrated in the slightest. My favorite book WAS Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. ^_______^ Glad that somebody else loves these book.

I've read them all numerous times, and I have to say, DH is probably my least favorite (except, of course, for the scenes with Bellatrix XD). It read far too much like a novelization than a novel. And the epilogue was cheesey and contrived. I didn't like it at all.
Book six was honestly my favorite.

WHAT?! How can you even say that? The Deathly Hallows had way too much emotion for you to HATE it! How did you not love how it makes you laugh and cry? It was AMAZING!

My favorite is The Deathly Hallows.

I think the Harry Potter books are an interesting read, but aren't great literature. And some are kind of creepy (not a good night read). But my religion isn't too fond of those kind of books, though I have friends who LOVE them, and friends whos parents won't let them read it. I was expecting the last book to end sadly, but instead it was cheesy (which I don't mind). Has anybody read any of the Shoe books by Noel Streatfeild? Those are some of my favorites. Or how about The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy? Adventure, Mystery, and Romance all combined.

I've read the Shoe books! They're great! But I like Harry Potter, too...

U speak for me!!! I am Catholic, and some very respectable Sisters have written eloquent articles about the dangers of HP. And I think these bools are not great literature. I've read Noel Streatfield too, and I really want to read The Scarlet Pimpernel!!! Ruthe, I think u would like LOTR. Just read the books before u watch the movies...:)

I personally hate Harry Potter, nothing against those of you who like it. The first one is OK but then the books keep getting darker and darker... I can't explain it but you know how there are some books you can't put down? This one I HAD to put down. It's not like I am against scary stories or magic or anything, I <3 fantasy and ghost stories and they never scare me, but these books are just kind of different.

I have to agree. The stories do get darker but JK Rowling always keeps it funny (and uber suspensful). I'm kinda sad that the movies are all Harry, Harry, Harry when really the supporting characters are just as important. Did anyone else notice that Ron was barely in the 5th movie and there were like no funny scenes, but there was like a 5 minute kiss scene between Harry and Cho?!

Movies do seem to focus on the main character a lot. Sometimes they don't leave enough room to develop the other characters. I haven't seen the 4th or 5th movie but I believe you. The first three were definitely like that.
