Chatterbox: Blab About Books
Okay, okay, I know there are probably like a million threads about Percy Jackson. I also know their are RPs, RRs, ect. about it. But I want a thread were you can just talk about all the aspects of the books (all of them!), quotes, characters, and all that other stuff. And no talky about Heros of Olympus. I haven't read them and I am choosing not to suffer with my siblings and read them after the last book comes out (my older sister is dieing waiting for it. I'm already almost dead from waiting for The Red Winter and for more Max, not to mention dieing over how the after The Princess of Trelain isn't out and I can't have my Calen back til NEXT YEAR! I badly need that book. I don't need to die over Percy too.). So no mentions, because, I HATE spoilers.
Well, anyway, all Percy's fans, unite! Hope you guys like this. If you don't, no one needs to know about it. . .
I need to eat!!

So, I'm going a little off now. I was watching the PJ movie, and I was watching that ending part where Gabe finds Medusa's head in the fridge. I was thinking about it, and I was thinking about how Sally used Medusa's head at the end of the book. It never REALLY penetrated before, but do ya'll realize Sally's technically a murderer? She turned Gabe to stone and SOLD him. Sorry, that's just a little disturbing. She's awesome of course! Just, a little disturbing.
(September 22, 2013 - 9:20 pm)
Yeah, I guess selling Gabe was weird. But he deserved it!! But he did, totally! And otherwise, in the other books, I loved Percy's mum. Especially in the last book. So, yeah, kinda disturbing, but totally awesome.
A random quote:
"'That's us,' he (Grover) said. 'Those five nuts right there.'
'Which one is me?' I asked.
'The little deformed one,' Zoe suggested.
'Oh, shut up'"
Ahh, how I miss Zoe.
I wish she was still here. Oh well.
(September 25, 2013 - 10:06 pm)
Oh I know! That quote was hilarious! I miss Zoe too.

*spoilersspoilersspoilers*@ BHR: Don't worry, your not alone! I totally think that Bianca's death was ridiculous, and a little embarrassing, for her I mean, because she sacrificed herself for an aciton figure for her brother. I guess that shows that Bianca loves Nico like a sister, but all she really had to do to was hand back the figure and buy another one at someplace that they sell the action figure. Then will she die in a way that's actully heroic.
@ Everinne: I also have been suffering about The House of Hades not beeing out yet, and thinking about how I will survive the 5th book not being out.*spoilers* I'm thinking that The House of Hades will be my favorite book in the series because Percy and Annabeth in Tarterus and all.

I want to read the finale, but I soo don't want it to be over! I can't believe that's it in the whole PJ series, all I'll have left is to reread them, omg terrible!!!!!!!

"We only came close to dying six or seven times, which I thought was pretty good. Once, I lost my grip and found myself dangling by one hand from a ledge fifty feet above the rocky surf. But I found another handhold and kept climbing. A minute later, Annbeth hit a slippery patch of moss and her foot slipped. Fortunately, she found something else to put it against. Unfortunately, that something was my face.
"Sorry," she murrmured.
"S'okay," I grunted, though I'd never really wanted to know what Annabeth's sneaker tasted like."
Can you guys guess what book that's from?
And, I know this is random, but, I liked Nico as a character. Even though he was all depressed and angry and reckless, I could understand his grief and frustration. And he wasn't always like that:
"Hey, can I see that sword you were using?"
I showed him Riptide, and explained how it turned from a pen into a sword just by uncapping it.
"Cool! Does it ever run out of ink?"
"Um, well, I don't actually write with it."
"Are you really the son of Poseidon?"
"Well, yeah."
"Can you surf really well then?"
I looked at Grover, who was trying hard not to laugh.
"Jeez, Nico," I said, "I've never really tried."
He went on asking questions. Did I fight a lot with Thalia, since she was the daughter of Zeus? (I didn't answer that one.) If Annabeth's mother was Athena, the goddess of wisdom, then why didn't Annabeth know better then to fall off a cliff? (I tried not to strangle Nico for asking that one.) Was Annabeth my girlfriend? (At this piont I was ready to stick the kid in a meat-flavored sack and throw him to the wolves.)"
See, at one point he was a cheerful little kid. Who annoyed Percy to death. XD
I just find it really sad that Bianca's death could change him so much. Poor Percy, though, he already held himself responsible for her death, and here Nico's blaming him too.
And yes, I did find Bianca's death kinda stupid. Such an awesome character deserved a better death scene. Like Zoe's or Luke's. Somthing like that.

The quote came from House of Hades!!
(January 4, 2014 - 1:48 pm)
@ Lena: Okay, THANK YOU! That's exactly what I always thought! Though, I recently found a picture that made me cry! It was a drawing of Bianca and Nico, and it read: "Rick taught us to love our siblings!"
I started sobbing. I did. It was so sweet. Lena, we all need pictures of puppies to help us get through the pain. Though for me, it doesn't help. I'm a fangirl, I NEED the House of Hades NOW!!!! Ugh, I'm just DYING!
So who else is going to camp out in front of their local bookstore?
(September 29, 2013 - 12:46 pm)
I don't know about camping out per se (sounds like Percy! Random...) but I am going to Barnes on October 8th and read as much of it as I can. I'm already on the wait list for holds for it at my library!
And I'm guessing that quote is from The Titan's Curse, since Nico's there.
(September 29, 2013 - 2:34 pm)
@ Corina: I agree. I miss the happy Nico! He was funny then! And that quote is from Sea of Monsters where they're climbing up the cliff of Polyphemus' Island, right?
@ Everinne: No, I probably won't actually camp out. My parents likely won't let me, though I really want to! But I'm counting down to the eighth! I'm so excited!
(September 29, 2013 - 9:23 pm)
I've had it pre-ordered from Amazon since March. Sometimes when I do that I get it the day before it comes out.
(September 30, 2013 - 12:45 pm)
Yep, Blonde Heroines Rule, your right!~ It's from the Sea of Monsters!
(September 30, 2013 - 3:22 pm)
Okay, I've got a PJ quote! Guess what this is from!
“Braccas meas vescimini!"
I wasn't sure where the Latin came from. I think it meant 'Eat my pants!”
(September 30, 2013 - 6:16 pm)
Oopsy, I forgot about this. I'm pretty sure that's from the . . . first book? I think so. So sorry.
HoH is comin out tomorrow! I'm a gonna read them as soon as I can get them from the library (the day after tomorrow) because my siblings and all ya guys will be talking about them and I really CAN. NOT. STAND. spoilers. So I'm a gonna ream em so I don't get spoilers. Then we can chatter about them on this thread. But, for now, please keep this thread Heros of Olympus free. Just for now. Please?
And here a quote for ya'll:
"You are okay?" he (Tyson) asked. "Not eaten by monsters?"
"Not even a litte bit." I showed him that I still had both arms and both legs, and Tyson clapped happily.
"Yay!" he said. "Now we can eat peanut butter sandwiches and ride fish ponies! We can fight monsters and see Annabeth and make things go BOOM!"
I hoped he didn't mean all at the same time, but I told him absolutely, we'd have a lot of fun this summer."
And another, because I couldn't pick between the two:
"Wow," Thalia muttered. "Apollo is hot."
"He's the sun god," I said.
"That's not what I meant."
