Everybody's heard of...
Everybody's heard of Twilight, right? It's, like, the second or third most popular book in the world (other than HP and Eragon). A classic vampire story- with a twist. Modern vampires that drink animal blood and a romance between a human and a vampire. Funny too. I <3 it! Too bad I haven't read Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the series. Has anyone read it? Is it good?

It's an intentional misspelling of "own", meaning "win".

Oh! Thanks. ...Sort of like how "teh" is intentionally mispelled?

Precisely.

Ahhh! Creepy! I wish I could remember my dreams that well, though...

Ok, after having read through all the posts, now I want to say something. Maybe I'm not the one best qualified to talk about Twilight; after all, I've only read the first book. I wasn't all that interested in it, but I saw the first movie, which looked like it had been mangled. I don't like to form my opinions of a book based on the movie (look what they did to Ella Enchanted) so I read the book, and found out that the movie actually hadn't mangled it all that much. I haven't read the rest because I didn't really think I'd enjoy them enough to make it worth it.
Opinions about the book itself:
I think that Stephanie Meyer is an excellent author. Her prose is very smooth, polished, and poetic, which makes the books fun to read. However, the subject matter gets old quickly. The entire first book is about Bella's fascination with Edward and how it got her into trouble. There is just enough action and plot to keep you reading. Bella is a pretty bland character, with no real personality traits other than her clumsiness. Edward annoys me. I don't know enough about Jacob yet to have an opinion on him; he would have to be a pretty awesome character to make up for the series's other flaws. Some of the other Cullens may be cool characters, but again, I don't know enough about them to say.
If you really like romance, I guess Twilight would be okay. But I'm not crazy about it.

Oh my gosh. I love the Twilight sereis. Its amazing and Stephie Meyer is a genius. You have to read Breaking Dawn if you haven't read it. There are so many surprises and so suspens that you won't put it down till your done reading and then you'll want to read it again. So if you haven't read it. Read it now and I mean right now.

...Surprises?! Where?!
Well, Demon BabyxJake I suppose. I was dead convinced she was aiming for LeahxJake (figures that she'd ruin the one well-developed relationship in the entire series, eh?).
As it is, though, (and for the record) I ship LeahxMarcus. Yes, Marcus as in the Volturi guy. No, you're not allowed to question my strange ships. And most days I ship RenesmeexDemitri and RosaliexJacob. Think about it (well, the RosexJake one anyway, as May and D don't interact in the books...). You know it's true! *waves arms wildly*
*sleeps*

Mm, I didn't get past what, page 50 of Eclipse...
But, to use a little comparison, I don't need to have cancer to know it's a bad disease.

You tell 'em, Mary Liz!

Yes, LeahxJake would've worked much better. As RosaliexJacob, well, actually, I thought she was aiming for that! Suprises, I guess you could count the whole Bella actually agreeing to get married/getting pregnant thing could be considered a suprise, but not really. You knew something along those lines was going to happen.
LeahxMarcus? Yes, that would've umm... livened up the plot a bit. The Volturi are awesome, you have to admit. I think that's the main reason I originally liked the series. RenesmeexDemetri would also have been fun.

Generally it's best not to question where I get some of my stranger ships from. ;)

*grin at Falmiriel*
I had no issues with the Volturi. What can you have against Jane? She does, after all, use the twilight equivalent of the Cruciatas on Eddykins. *gives Jane cookies*
