The House of Hades cover came out yesterday, and man, does it look great!
Here it is:
So the official description from RR's site reads:
At the conclusion of The Mark of Athena, Annabeth and Percy tumble into a pit leading straight to the Underworld. The other five demigods have to put aside their grief and follow Percy’s instructions to find the mortal side of the Doors of Death. If they can fight their way through the Gaea’s forces, and Percy and Annabeth can survive the House of Hades, then the Seven will be able to seal the Doors both sides and prevent the giants from raising Gaea. But, Leo wonders, if the Doors are sealed, how will Percy and Annabeth be able to escape?
They have no choice. If the demigods don’t succeed, Gaea’s armies will never die. They have no time. In about a month, the Romans will march on Camp Half-Blood. The stakes are higher than ever in this adventure that dives into the depths of Tartarus.
So it looks like we'll continue to get narration from either Percy or Annabeth, since the cover (obviously) displays them in Tartarus. (WHAT THE HECK IS WITH THE HUGE DOOR ON CHAINS??? Doors of Death?) Plus I wonder what the heck is with Percy and Annabeth's weird gray clothes. Maybe they get worn from being in the ENDLESS PIT OF TOTAL DOOM????? (Not exactly the most important thing on the cover.) And notice how Percy is dragging Annabeth and looking behind him. Perhaps they're being chased by some dreadful abomination, and Percy is nervously watching their pursuit. Annabeth, in my opinion, is possibly worn out, and Percy is dragging her along to save her from TOTAL DOOM and whatnot.
I shall speculate as to who the narrators are, and you guys are also welcome to, of course. Annabeth, Leo, Hazel and Frank. What do you guys think?
Rodney says zrrr. Zrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Like Grr, just more, uh... ZRRRYYYY

Very nice cover.
My guess of narrators is Annabeth, Percy and Leo.

Didn't Leo narrarate in the last book? He's my favorite character in those books, though, so I wouldn't mind if you're right.

OH.MY.GGGGOOOOSSSSHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is AWESOME!!!!!!!! I am so excited, I CANNOT wait!!!!!!!!!
So yeah, it is evidently Percy and Annabeth, and yeah, Annabeth is either wounded or exhausted. But note, something is indeed following them, but look at their feet. Something like electricity maybe, is following them, attempting to attach itself. So maybe that's what Percy's looking at?
(Side note, did anyone else notice Annabeth has like, a ribbon in her hair? Just noticed that.)
(June 3, 2013 - 3:11 pm)
I can't wait either!!! When is the book coming out?
(June 4, 2013 - 9:38 am)
I think the thing around their feet looks a bit like spiderwebs. After all, Arachne did fall into Tartarus too, and she can't be happy with Annabeth.

GOOP RETURNS AT LAST!
(June 4, 2013 - 8:20 am)
It sounds a little like The Throne of Fire, except the Greek Underworld. Also, the electricity thing might be ice like in Son of Neptune.
Rick Riordan is slowly deteriorating. Percy Jackson was the best, then Kane Chronicles and I don't even like Heroes of Olympus all that much.

@Teresa: It comes out October 8.
My guess at narrators is Annabeth, Leo, and Jason or Frank. Maybe all.

The cover looks awesome. About the "doors of death", that totally makes sense!
Has anybody else considered Nico narrating, too? It is called "The House of Hades" after all.
(June 5, 2013 - 3:37 pm)
Well... he's not one of the seven in the prophecy. I don't think so.

Hey everyone! Breaking news regarding the possibility of Nico narrating in House of Hades!
This is a tweet posted in response to a question from a fan by Dr. Riordan himself:
RT: Please tell me Nico gets a POV in The House of Hades./Already PLENTY of POVs, so no. But he has a big part.
So it seems we will not get narration from Nico. If we were, our friend the spoiler-protecting writer would say something like "you'll see...". He's sometimes very funny when answering tweeted questions! Hey... let's all send him our questions! If you get answers, post them here on the Chatterbox!

OK, so I see....lava, of course. Lots of lava. I see that there are even lava waterfalls; so Tartarus is collapsing; maybe?...I'm also seeing flying figures overhead: the Furies, or maybe Harpies? Or other totally random wonderfully terrible new creatures; or.....flyng monkeys....
Rock spires, obviously, and Riptide, and I'm thinking, maybe the strange discolored clothing is chainmaill of some sort.
The main mystery in my eyes is the blue-white ribbon-like stuff trailing behind them. My guess is that its water; after all, this is Percy, Son of the Sea God we're talking about. It could also be some sort of light.
That's all I got.

Rodney says porr. As in pouring rain. Rain in Tartarus, maybe. Hmmm...
(June 6, 2013 - 7:34 pm)
It's raining outside now.

@ Gollum: I agree. He is. Percy Jackson was, and will forever be, the best series he wrote. After that, I like the Heroes of Olympus, mostly 'cause Percy and Annabeth are in it, and Leo is that series' saving grace. I really didn't like the Kane Chronicles much at all. It had good parts, and some good character, (like Bast), but other than that, it just didn't go over well with me.
@ Charlie: I'm thinking they may be Harpies or some such thing, for there are only three Furies, and I think I see more than that, or is it just me? Also, I think the thing following may be water as well, since it is Percy, and there is a river of fire in front of them. Or, it kinda looks like electricity, though it's doubtful. And their clothes... Again, the ribbon in Annabeth's hair just keeps striking me, though why I don't know. Probably because never before has RR described Annabeth with a hair ribbon. Just kinda makes me wonder...
