What are you

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

What is everybody reading these days?
What are you...

What are you reading?  What book did you just finish?

I started reading it and it's not.... it's a teen book. I guess it's okay, but I wish it was... arrgh. Oh well. I have to finish it now--the main character is making a graphic novel.

I just finished reading "Second Fiddle" by Siobhan Parkinson,

and now I'm reading "Lady Knight" by Tamora Pierce.

I love how she writes about girls being just as tough as boys and not all princesses.

I just finished The Fellowship of the Ring, and can't wait until I have time to read Two Towers! I'm going to a high school play of Anna and the King soon, so I'm reading the book now. I just started To Kill a Mockingbird also, but decided to read Anna and the King first. On a different note, I started to read 1984 last night (and read one chapter), but my parents think I should wait to finish it until I'm 15 or 16. Thoughts? Has anyone read 1984 that would like to share their opinion? I thought it was a bit bizzare, but I have pretty good reading comprehension and basically understood it.

Currently reading: Gorgeous by Paul Rudnick. Melody wasn't kidding when she said it got a little swear-happy at times. I plan to read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland soon, if I can find the time to go to Barnes & Noble.

Yeah.

Currently reading: Howl's Moving Castle by Dianna Wynne Jones. The story is okay, but the writing style is a bit odd.

Just finished: Gorgeous by Paul Rudnick.

Just finished: Rupert of Hentzau by Anthony Hope. Why I read old fashioned adventure novels, I don't know, but it was a really good sequel.

Reading now: Peril at End House by Agatha Christie. I love her stories to death (pun not intended!)

I just read AMERICAN BORN CHINESE. If you ever need a graphic novel READ THIS ONE! Or BOXERS/SAINTS (by the same guy). It was just so.... amazing. I couldn't even really believe the ending when I finished it. I think I'm going to have to reread it one or two more times.

And if you liked ROBOT DREAMS and wanted something slightly happier, the author has come out with a new book: BAKERY SALE. It also does not end on a great note, and the whole story is not half as good as robot dreams. Plus it is not all silent. I think that's what made ROBOT DREAMS magical.

Finished My Bonny Light Horseman and started a collection of British short stories.  Jacky Faber.  She is awesome.  And everyone must read about her and fangirl.

Currently reading: Ordeal by Innocence by Agatha Christie. I'm kind of on a mission to read every book she ever wrote.

Next on the list: Beauty by Robin McKinley.
