Thief Lord
by Cornelia FunkeThief Lord is an amazing book about runawy children living in an abandoned movie theater in Venice, Italy. One, Scipio, who calls himself the Thief Lord has a terrible secret. A detective, Victor Getz, is looking for Prosper and Bo, who have run away from their rich, but very mean Aunt Esther, and is now, thanks to Hornet (another one of the runaways) living in the movie theater with the others. The kids are asked to steal something for the mysterious Conte, and from there things get really interesting!!

I haven't read this particular book by her, but Cornelia Funke is a great author. I especially like the Inkheart books and can't wait until Inkdeath (the third book) is released in the U. S.
