It might be a great book but it's pretty insulting to the Christians.

I agree; I would never want to read a book that is against God. My dad bought me the first book, not knowing what it was about. My mom said it might be good to read it though, just to see how bad it is. Some people think Harry Potter is really bad when I think it's not trying to make you believe in wizards--it's just a story.

I really would NOT reccomend this series because it is against Christianity and against the faith of many others.

Although it is against God, it is still a great read. Besides, if he'd used a different name would you still not recommend it?

I think he wasn't trying to make you lose your faith just question what you believe. I think I agree that many are blinded because they question others' beliefs before their own.

I pretty much agree. I also beleive that it is more about how someone else thinks of the villains, not particularly about God, although that is the name the author chooses to represent the bad guy. For example if God was called...Deed, and he wrote about him, the author would be using the name and its power, not the person, atleast, that's how I see it.

Lighten up! It's just a story. It's not against God either. It's about a fake evil angel that took over. In The Amber Spyglass you'll find out that the real god was imprisoned in a crystal box and became so fragile that when Lyra and Will (two of the main characters in it) set him free he was blown away, and disintergrated, but he was free. Again it's just a story and it's a great read.

I never noticed that before. I guess it's because I'm Unitarian.

What is Unitarian? Sorry if it's not about the book, but it sounds interesting.

It may seem insulting at first, but if you really think about it, it is a great story about how someone else percieves the villains, not particularly God himself.

This is the most interesting book I've ever read!!! It is about a little girl named Lyra who goes on amazing adventure while meeting a giant, armored bear and learning how to read a mysterious instrument.

This is maybe the best book I have ever read! It's all about a girl named Lyra who travels through the North with an armored bear. This is a good book because there should be some fantasy books that are not Christian.
