Harry Potter
by J. K. Rowling (Joane Kathleen Rowling)This books are great! At first I thought they sounded kind of weird, but when I bought one I thought it was really good. It is about a boy named Harry Potter who is adopted by his horible aunt and uncle and he can do really strange things. Then a mystical letter arives and soon after that he learns he is a wizard! Read all of the books of Harry Potter to find out about all his adventures at Hogwarts School of witchcraft and wizardry while he battles with the altimate dark lord. My favorite one of these books is Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Askaban book 3.

I'm surprised no one has really mentioned wizard rock (wrock) on this thread. I personally like the Parselmouths, the Remus Lupins (ALEX CARPENTER! SQUEE!), and.......you know what? I love EVERYONE!
And btw, you guys should listen to Pottercast or go on The Leaky Cauldron!

I tried to bring up mugglenet, TLC ( the Leaky Cauldron), Potter cast, and Muggle cast, but I guess people were just not that interested.... I listen to some wizard rock..... but it is a hassle to get it because every song i get on itunes my mum has to ok... so that means that it can't have swear words, murderous themes, and othe stuff to, so I honestly don't get to listen to much.

Oh, cool! Where do you live now? (You don't have to be specific, I mean like East Coast, Midwest, etc.)
Isn't there a wizard band called Draco and the Malfoys?

On the Theodosia Throckmorton (another great book series) website, someone asked for ideas for an Egyptian-themed birthday party, and one of the ideas could also work for a Percy Jackson-themed party, if you replace Egypt with Greece. You could get several slips of paper and write the name of a Greek god or goddess on each one. You can also include information on them, depending on how much the guests already know about Greek mythoogy. Put the paper in a hat, or other container. Anyway, each guest must choose 1 slip of paper from the container without looking, then read their own paper (only) describe the Greek god or goddess to everyone else (without mentioniing his/her name), and have the others try to guess who it is. Or, if you would prefer, you can do characters from the series instead of mythological figures. Either way works.

That's a great idea, but it might not work if everybody knows too much about PJ. I would list several words you can't say to describe them. Like, if the card is Zeus, you can't say Thalia, king, lightning, brother ... you get the idea. Like taboo. I wuv taboo.

I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and I really like it. My favourite chapter was "Nineteen years later", because it talked about the next generation of the Potter family.

I agree with you; it is good, but the 1st book is the best (as always).
(July 2, 2010 - 6:46 pm)
Why do you think that, Juliet? I disagree with you -- I think that JKR greatly improved as a writer as she wrote the books, and that the last ones are the best.

I 'gree with ZNZ--- JKR gets notably better as she writes more. The writing in the seventh book is such a huge improvement over the first book; I was comparing them a while ago and I was blown away.
But it is true that often if someone writes a book and then decides to make sequel(s), the first volume is often best.

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was the *only* person I actually cried for. But Tonks and Remus were sad -- they were two of my favourite charries for the whole series.

I just started book #1. Nothing scary yet. Maybe later. It all started today when I was on Library of Muse mag kids. I saw a review about Harry Potter. I kept that I wanted to read it a secret until lunch. Then Mom warned me about a couple things. After lunch, Dad got me the first book.
