The Guitared Group!

The Guitared Group!

I write this in the confidence that Zoba didn't misspell this name... eh whatever. Allow me to jump straight into things. Hi! Hello! Good day, or evening. Ahem. Now that we are all in this group together, it would be best to get the conversation going. What have you all been working on these couple days? Any writing projects coming to life? Has there anything intresting going on around you? Any recent accomplishments that make you proud? How about bringing up a topic that you want to chat about? And did you know that Zoodles do exist in real life?

On my side, I've just finished participating in my school's track-and-field festival, which is actually a massive track-and-field tournament that involves the whole school, and is a wondeful period of time where we students generally do sports and have fun. There's 100 meter sprinting, 400 meter track running and continues on to 800 meters, 1000 meters, 1500 meters, and also 3000 meter races. And we hold discus throwing and a bunch of other competitions as well. Today I took fourth place in the 3000 meter race out of twelve other participants, so I'm pretty pleased with myself. Also I'm slowly working on a sci-fi novel of mine. I'll elaborate further if any of you are intrested, but right now I'm out of time to write- so I guess see you tomorrow!

Hi, Zealatom, thanks for starting this thread. I love that first paragragh. Yes, they exist in real life! It's so insane...

These past couple days I've been working on preparing for wind ensemble. Basically, around a hundred teens come together and spend the whole day (and I mean the WHOLE day) working on some songs, and then there's a performance at night. Writing projects coming to life - not really, right now. As for topics I want to chat about, I kind of want to find out more about what you guys like first. Are you into music, writing, reading, acting, sports? Any of those catch your eye?

Zealatom, it's really cool that you're writing a sci-fi novel. I've always wanted to do that. How far are you and what's the title?

hey :)) yes, isn't it cool that zoodles actually exist?

I've been working on my novel most of the time (because the daily 1,667 words takes up quite a bit of time). I just hit 25k words on my fantasy novel, which means I'm halfway there! woohoo! besides that, i'm at poem 99 for my poem a day streak, and newsletter club has been pretty fun, and is doing pretty well considering it is the first year.

Zealatom, nice job! I personally am not that good at running. My best mile time (which i just got today) is a 10 minute. And feel free to talk about your sci fi novel! Do you have a personal goal for that?

wow wind ensemble sounds cool, Piano Man! I'm part of drumline, and we will receive our show music soon. I joined this year for fun, and I'm playing the vibraphone.

I play guitar and piano otherwise, and I enjoy listening to mainly pop music. I love writing as you can see from above, and I'm attempting to read whatever books catch my eye. I recently started the percy jackson series. I also play badminton.

Does anyone have a personal challenge? Or have cool clubs that they joined or other related activites? What music genre do all of you listen to?

*Poof*

A good morrow to both of you, on this fine and wonderful day! I have finally found time to write this post and to reboot this chat thread. So continuing from last month...

-The sci-fi novel I was talking about has suddenly began developing itself, in the sense that ideas have been spewing from my mind with such rapidity that it has now grown from a simple world to a massive universe. I've actually decided to stop developing it as a novel and to begin to treat it as a collection of stories instead. If you're still intrested I can elaborate. In fact, the thread I made a long time ago on Inkwell was a shorter story about one of my oc's in the world, Dawn 1.

-As of now, my current intrests are centering around an older concept of mine that I am developing into a plot, which is the ancient world I once made an RP about, and that is the city of Jenseng. I've been reading Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere recently and I became inspired by his clever allusions to current problems in human society, and I'm thinking if I can try something simillar with the education system over here, since it's something that I have a good understanding of. It's absolutely ridden with problems too.

-Personal challenges? Overcoming writer's block, for one, and managing to stick to one project is another. I tend to jump back and forth between projects, and I've been trying to combat it for a long time with little success. The major problem is that I don't have nearly enough time to write and develop my ideas. When I can't enter flow mode, my writing turns out rough, and that in turn discourages me and puts me off from developing the plot. It's a vicious cycle and I really need to break out of it someday.

-Clubs? No clubs, sorry. Everyone is too busy studying and taking classes to take part in clubs, in my high school. The ones who do are either the incredibly talented who don't need to listen in class and can get good grades all the same, or those who have given up and feel just fine with an F. I've found a handful of people who like writing and drawing though, so that's a plus.

Music Genres! Everything apart from heavy metal, I suppose. I particularly like pop, rock, classical music (both Eastern and Western), and all of the Ace Combat OST music tracks because they are amazing.

How about you guys? Have you tried taking the Meyers-Briggs personality tests? I'm an INFJ-T. Any intresting events happening beside you right now?
