It all started with an online forum website. A website of forums for a group of people as different as can be, with a single hobby tying them together; the exploration of abandoned buildings.
It was an obscure pass time, you know… But it’s so much more if you look closely. The stories you can discover, the memories you can feel… Despite them not being yours, of course. It was quite an odd, bittersweet sensation. You rather liked it.
You liked it even more when you discovered some of the website's users lived in your neighborhood; some going to the local college, others being past their days of education and going adventuring when they’re free from their 9 to 5 jobs, and a couple teens still living with their parents.
This news was exciting, even more so when one of them struck gold and discovered an abandoned manor property in the woods of a nearby town; Esterwyn.
It was built by one (filthy rich) Amadeus Freimuth in the Gilded Age, before being passed down to his lone heir. It remains in the family’s possession to this day, although Amadeus’s son— Augustine Freimuth— locked its doors sometime in the 1920s, never looking back…
It was thrilling to think about what might lie within. Empty halls? An old millionaire’s (modern day billionaire’s) treasures? There’s only one way to find out…

Reserving, but I wanted to know if there was a minimum/maximum age? I thought it'd be interesting to create a school-age character, and I know you said you didn't mind variety, but I wanted to check in specifically just to be sure. Sorry, it's probably a silly question.

Name: Peter "Lars" Larson

Male or Female: Male
Personality: tends to make (bad) jokes under pressure, sorta awkward but funny. Very imaginative, perhaps to the point where it's childish. Tries to be cool. Fails. Like, tragically fails.
Voice: sorta flows up and down, sometimes cracks when he's nervous
Physical Appearance: average height leaning on the tall side, with brown hair and light skin. Usually appears in some type of 80s band or sci-fi movie t-shirt, jeans, and low tops.
Family (i.e. Spouse, children, old parents... OPTIONAL!): he lives with his dad, who's very smart but quite forgetful and usually stuck in his own head. As a result, though Lars' dad does his best, he can sometimes be a bit ignorant, like failing to pay attention to Lars' interests or show up to school concerts (he's been in the band program at school playing clarinet for years). Lars is used to this but it can still be disappointing for him at times. He also has a cat called Charles
Strengths: quoting movies nobody's heard of, quoting movies everyone's heard of, seeing in the dark, debating with people, noticing small details
Weaknesses: he's a bit gullible and not particularly brave, also quite bad at talking to people
Dreams: he dreams of finding a ghost in an abandoned house, which is… Not very likely
Nightmares: losing his best friends, Anne and Mark, or his dad, or his cat

Personality: she's always been a popular, rich, loved-but-also-kinda-hated by everyone kinda girl. As a result, she's a bit snobby and kind of annoying, petty, and manipulative - but redeemable.
Voice: every blonde mean girl in every tv show ever - that stupid high pitched annoying voice
Physical Appearance: not blonde (surprisingly), but rather cherry red. She dyed it to celebrate going to college. She's got light skin and brown eyes. Usually appears in a pink dress and combat boots.
Family (i.e. Spouse, children, old parents... OPTIONAL!): she's got family at her house in Colorado, but she left for college so she doesn't see them as often anymore
Strengths: manipulating people, using people, betraying people, being feared, stealing
Weaknesses: being likeable, math
Dreams: of being truly loved and cared about, platonically or romantically, by someone

Male or Female: female
Personality: reclusive, slightly provocative if spoken to (acts like talking to her is an offense), intense, impatient, sly, and stubborn.
Voice: Loud, with slight Scottish accent; is always saying things so witty they're annoying.
Physical Appearance: Silvery hair that's really, really long, tan skin, dark brown eyes. Usually wears a dress in one color (either green, blue, purple, or orange).
Family (i.e. Spouse, children, old parents... OPTIONAL!): Her grandfather moved to wherever this story takes place from Scotland when he was a college student; as a result, the rest of the Lensters have kind of drifted away from the wayward grandfather's branch of the family tree, which is now only Agatha, because her parents are dead.
Strengths: Won't back down, is very hard to trick, and is great at martial arts, gardening, math, and cross-country skiing in a hurry.
Weaknesses: Doesn't care very much about socioemotional stuff between other people (for instance, if she were a teacher, she would have no problem having two feuding children work on a project together, whether or not they made up) and picks fights easily.
Dreams: That her cousin Aberforth will make her move to Scotland with the rest of the family under the name of being cared for by her relatives, and that the Lensters will have every person with that last name in the same country again.
Nightmares: Someone bringing up her complicated family dynamics; it is the only thing that can get her to crumple.

Personality: outgoing and confedint does not like to be pushed around will stand up for herself also headstrong and resiliant
Voice: kind of lower with a slight british accent
Physical Appearance: on the smaller side. Aburn hair usually in a fishtail braid that goes down her back. always wearing sailor clothes and cap not usually the dresses but the stuff that men usually wear. and has circle gasses

Strengths:Exremly stubborn and will NEVER give up. EVER.

Physical Appearance: tall and willowy will short blond hair that is feathery and makes it down to her shoulders. wears jeans and short sleeved black shirt with blue denim jacket. full lips and a creamy complextion. small nose and the biggest bluest eyes ever. light freckles are across her nose

Strengths: though she seems like a little flower she is very learned in the martial arts and she can really fight.
Weaknesses: she has a pomeranian dog that she is very attached to. she also hates betrayls and trys hard not to get attacht to people but ends up doing that anyway.
Dreams: finding someone who understands her shyness and attachment to people
Nightmares: being trapped and forgeting how to fight

You see, I've become rather attatched to Kaz, one of the characters I made for Zdroiska, so I'm going to add a somewhat modified version of them here. Who knows, maybe Chaser will enter Feya, their sister, too.
Name: Kaz Tataryn-Honchar
Age (Feel free to give me variety!): 21
Male or Female: AMAB, nonbinary, they/them, he/him acceptable but not preferred.
Personality: Ambitious and a hard worker. Wants to make the world a better place, but not sure how yet. Both a dreamer and a doer. In college for computer science on a rock climbing scholarship. Enjoys community service. Just like in Zdroiska, they’re determined to change the world for the better, only unlike in Zdroiska they’re not sure how.
Voice: A deep base, low and smooth, good for singing, which they like to do often.
Physical Appearance: Tall, muscular, light brown skin, with floofy curly hair with an undershave with intricate designs shaved into it. A little stubble along the jaw because they don't shave often enough. Deep amber-brown eyes, a handful of scars (including one over the left eye and one along the jaw), some from the car accident that killed their father and younger siblings, some from various minor rock climbing accidents, a few with various other stories behind them. A complicated runic tattoo on their left arm from shoulder to fingertips.
Family (i.e. Spouse, children, old parents... OPTIONAL!): Had a father, a mother, two younger siblings, and an older sister. Father and younger siblings died in a car accident when they were 17. When they were 18, their mother mysteriously disappeared under strange circumstances, which is perhaps why they have an obsession with exploring mysterious places like abandoned buildings. Now it’s just them and their older sister, who is an adult somewhere
Strengths: Hardworking, good at pottery & handbuilding with clay (ceramics is one of his hobbies), strong, agile, good stamina, clever & intelligent, a strong climber.
Weaknesses: Has a habit of getting dirty easily, quick to judge, slow to trust, always a hair away from punching someone in the face (although they've gained pretty good control of their temper over the years).
Dreams: While they’re in college on a rock climbing scholarship, they don’t want to rock climb professionally. They want to graduate college and grad school and become a video game developer. They’d also like to become financially stable enough to have a pottery studio and maybe sell their artwork on the side, and they want to keep rock climbing and exploring old buildings as a hobby.
Nightmares: Has nightmares of the car crash in which their father and younger siblings died, which they were the only survivor of. They also worry that they won’t be able to have an impact on the world.

Why Does This Character Like Exploring Abandoned Buildings?: Their mother disappeared under mysterious circumstances not far from an old dilapidated abandoned school building. The police didn't consider it relevant to the investigation, but Kaz thought it might have some clues, so they explored it one night. They didn't find anything but they genuinely enjoyed it and doing it reminds them of their mother in a good way. They always bring a buddy and if they climb anything inside the building that seems unsafe they use a harness and a belaying system, because they don't want their sister to have to deal with another death or mysterious disappearance.
