Break a Leg, Arden

It all started off as a normal day. I woke up to my mom calling for me to come down for breakfast. “It's your big day!” she shrieked with excitement.

I quickly threw on my nicest dress and my new pair of sneakers! I ran to my parents bathroom. I stuck my toothbrush in my mouth and snatched my hairbrush. Then sprinted down the steps.

“Hi Arden, are you excited for your performance tonight?” my mom said with a grin on her face.

‘Yes! Very much.”

“Have fun and break a leg!” she shouted.

I arrived at the theater! I took a deep breath before walking inside. As I entered I saw so many people! I got even more excited. The director reminded us that we needed to get in our places because the show was starting in five minutes.

“Omg!” I gasped as the audience walked in. There were so many people!

“Can you do me a favor?” I whispered to my friend, Rosey.

“Sure!” What is it she replied!?”

“Can you push me off the stage at the end of the performance?”

“Um why?’

“My mom told me to break a leg so I am doing what I'm told!”

“Oh okay! Odd favor to ask but sure!”

“Thanks so much. See you at the end of the show. Good luck, Rosey!”

The lights dimmed, and I knew it was my time to shine. I went to the front of the stage and started singing. I had a bright smile on my face. I saw Rosey take a step up to push me off the stage. My life flashed before my eyes. I heard blood-pitching screams. The last thing I remember happening was feeling a sharp pain in my leg.

I woke up panting and looked around. I was in my own bed but felt so confused and scared! I immediately felt my leg to check if it was broken. It wasn't! It must have been a dream! All of my nervous energy flowed out of me. I was so happy! Worst dream ever!
