Fireflies

Under the twinkling stars,
Where the vast meadows are,
On comes a little light.

A firefly,
Lightin’ up the sky,
And scarin’ away the night.

A dazzling light show,
For the creatures below,
A magnificent slght to see.

Well, she likes to watch ’em,
But he likes to catch ’em,
And that’s okay with me.

When the small moon is weak,
It’s the firefly we seek,
To light and show our way.

They flash all the night,
’til the sun brings us light,
And then they hide all the day.

While the night is a-darkening,
The fireflies are a-sparkling,
And the crickets are playing with glee.

Well, she likes to watch ’em,
But he likes to catch ’em,
And that’s okay with me.
