Cleo

At my feet drops a small green foam O
I know who did it—my dear Cleo!

I threw, she fetched,
Teeth marks are etched

A green foam O is at my feet
I look up and our eyes meet

She snags, I fling
She bites the thing

She runs back and forth, forth to attack
She would never turn her back

She fetched, I threw
And then I knew

She was tired of this game
She just didn’t act the same

With her small head held high
With her tail straight to the sky
I knew my kitten didn’t want another try.
