Poetry Contest: Something Scary

Dancing skeletons and headless rangers? What could be scarier—or more fun? Marty says that October is a perfect time for hiding under the covers and reading something that sends shivers up and down your spine. So for this month’s contest, we’d like you to write a poem about something scary.

Will you write about witches, black cats, and bats? Or walking through a cemetery at midnight and meeting a ghost? Maybe you’ll find inspiration in the mysterious mists of the Weepwallow, which the Rake is about to cross in “The Star Shard.” Or perhaps the scariest thing you can think of is ... a big math test, or the first day of school, or dancing solo on stage, or getting a daring new hair style.

Whatever scares you, send us your best poem about it—24 lines or less, please. Everybuggy will be creeping to the mailbox to read it. Boo!
