Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue

Hey Everybody!!!

Hey Everybody!!!

I haven't been on for a loooooong time!!!!!

Please excuse my typing. I'm on my tia (aunt) Mimi's computer and the keyboard is kinda rusty!!!!

Anywho...Admins and friends, I have a problem. I am considering entering the art contest. I live in the city so I cannot find a location to paint, take a professinal photo, etc. I loooooooooove photography!!!! My mom has a professinal camera so I want to take a beautiful pic of a prairie or something.

I need your help. Please post some ideas for me.

Example: Well, Vida, you can read a western book and get a feel of what to do.

Thanks!!

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Admins... usually one of the Admins comments!!! Can one of you suggest somethin???

Hi, Vida, It's good to hear from you. Your example is a good suggestion. Look at the stories and illustrations in the October Cricket, other stories or books you have read, and at the library. You should be able to find some good photos there or on the Internet if your parents approve. But you shouldn't just copy them. You might want to draw what you see in your mind when you read a story without illustrations. Have you seen any movies or TV shows set in the west such as Little House on the Prairie? You might get some inspiration from something like that.

OKay.

Thanks Admin!!!

I love Little House On The Prairie!! I watch it almost every day!!!

My Grandpa loved the west and Cowboys and Indians!!! Well of course he was born and raised in Oklahoma!!

My grandma (grandpa died on September 15th 2009) might be able to lend me some movies or paintings.

She has a ton!!

I have read all the Prairie books, so I can just go back and read a chapter to get a feel.

I'm sure you'll have some good ideas! Be sure to mail very, very soon. The deadline is Monday, and sometimes the mail is really slow!

Admins,

first of all thank you for all you support and encouragement!

I am not to sure I am going to do this anymore.

I truly want to but I have soooooo many other activities to do.

I have to write a paper by Thursday and much, much more.

If I do, I can draw it real quick (I am a fast -- yet VERY good drawer) and my mom will said she would send it in overnight mail if she has to.

Well, if you don't do it this month Vida, maybe you can the next time. We'll probably have another art contest in March or April.

I didn't get the chance to do it this time!!
Maybe next time though!

Plus, I'm really not that good at drawing things I can't see.

Sorry for me!

I'm sure I will do the next contest!

I love art!!

Well, you could read Narnia if you want something REALLY out-of-this-world and get the feel of what to do. You could also read The Secret Garden. They're both very good books. Red Hugh is a war scene. I hope I helped a little.
