@eclipse twilight group!!
hi! idk if i've met you before, but i'm anastasia! im a very big theater and music nerd, i saw that you also like theater i think? what are some of your favorite musicals/plays? i personally love newsies, legally blonde, into the woods, hamilton ofc! and as for plays i really i like hamlet and a raisin in the sun...i recently went to my friend's performance of treasure island and that was also really good.

hi! yes I am very into theater and musical. newsies was actually the first show I ever did!! and legally blond is super fun. I also love six, hadestown, wicked, pippin, and so much more. do you have any broadway idols? mine are definitely eva noblezada & renee rapp. are you in any shows right now? or have you been in any?
what other kinds of music do you like? I saw your list of artists, so many iconic singers. do you play any instruments? song recs?
I also saw that you like the hunger games—what do you think of the prequel?
excited :)
(April 30, 2024 - 12:06 pm)
OMG HADESTOWN!! how did i literally forget that? def in my top 5 musicals. also you were in newsies? im so jelly who did you play?
i love renee rapp :D shes definitely one of my broadway idols. also barrett wilbert weed, because i love heathers and mean girls too. (lol i just love them all) kara lindsay is cool too.
currently im not in any shows, my most recent one was an original play about an evil doctor lol. i have been in a lot of shows (probably 15+ i think, i started acting when i was 7) all of them plays, and although i do sing, i haven't gotten the chance to be in a musical :( i want to so bad though. are you in a show right now?
however right now im in an accents and dialects acting class, which is really fun. so far we've learned british, irish, and australian. im not too good at irish, i absolutely cannot do the aussie accent, but im amazing at british, ngl.
okay. i love music. like so much. i pretty much listen to any genre of music (except country lol) what genres/artists do you listen to?
i have many song recs but i'll give a few: 'i think' by tyler, the creator; 'miss you' by chelsea howard (she has one song. thats all. but its really good!) 'barely on my mind' by the regrettes; 'ladies room' by olivia dean; 'all the things she said' by t.A.T.u; 'superstar' by rainbow kitten surprise...
do you have any good songs i should listen to? also i play piano, i think i've played for six years or so.
yes i love the prequel! the book is great, i unfortunately never got the chance to see the film, but when it comes to streaming services, i'll definitely watch it.
btw my friend's bday is coming up on saturday, and he likes 'absurdist fiction' and stuff like camus, and i have zero idea what book to get him. agh. any ideas?
(April 30, 2024 - 3:44 pm)
yesss I saw hadestown on broadway and it blew my mind. lol I was ensemble in newsies but I got to do some cool dances with newspaper which was fun. heathers is amazing from what little I know—it's one I've always meant to get more into but oh well life. not the hugest fan of mean girls soundtrack but that movies were good.
I'm a fan of evil doctors. what did you play? i'm not in a show rn, my latest one was wizard of oz, in which I played a crow, munchkin, and tree :/ among other ensemble roles.
accents are so cool! I am totally horrible at them though. I did enjoy making my voice super nasally and high for munchkin-land :) dream show? dream role?
I THINK is super cool. actually all of your songs are—they have cool laid back percussion stuff going on. I rlly like 'barely on my mind' it reminds me of my brother's music style. hmm... music recs. well renee rapp has 'pretty girls' which i rlly like. also a boy named pluto by Hailey Knox. and one that I got from my dance class was 'primetime' by miguel and janelle monáe. lmk what you think!
hey I used to play piano too! I'm thinking of getting back into it, more in a jazz context.
I admit to not knowing who Camus is, but after a quick online search: the remains of the day by Kazuo Ishiguro gives me similar old-confusing-searching-for-meaning vibes. also exhalation by ted chiang is a cool collection of philosophical short stories. wouldn't trust me too much though :/
what kind of books do you like to read? also what's your style like? do you have any siblings?
(April 30, 2024 - 9:52 pm)
so the main theme of the play i was in was basically that there was a movie and a tv show that were somehow overlapping, and so scooby-doo characters were "leaking" into the movie called 'doctor of the dark alley' which was about a evil doctor who actually isnt a doctor and just kills people. lol.....so i was the 'tv host' in this play, which meant i was onstage for 2 hours straight. i had like 60+ lines though, so it was a pretty good role! my friend was said evil doctor, and he was amazing haha.
omg my accents coach loves doing that high nasally voice! he's like a major fan of the wizard of oz. my dream show would be...aughhh...probably newsies tbh. its such a fun show, with the acrobatics and stuff. dream role probably jack or katherine, but also maybe glinda from wicked?
also yeah, i listen to a lot of genres, but the main theme of them is the laid back, kinda upbeat, percussiony style! you said barely on my mind reminds you of your brother's music style--do you mean what he listens to, or is he in a band or something?
and ooo i love your song recs! 'pretty girls' is one of my fav renee rapp songs, but i hadn't heard the other songs. a boy named pluto was amaaaazing! her voice is gorge and i love the vibe going on. primetime was fun too! janelle monae has such a pretty voice.
KAZUO ISHIGURO!!!! I LOVE HIM!! the buried giant is so good. i ended up buying 'cats cradle' by kurt vonnegut for him, which i actually have been meaning to read lol. but your right that book would've also been great.
as for books im such a nerd about this also. heh. i pretty much read anything also--i will admit im a sappy romance fan...but dw thats not all lol. i really like fantasy, philisophical stuff (reading sophie's world rn really good) i also like realistic fiction, memoires (crying in h-mart aaaaa) and well....yeah anything really. what kind of books do you read--any book recs? i would recommend lovely war by julie berry, the inheritance games by jennifer lynn barnes, also little white lies and deadly little scandles by the same author. ooh and maybe the sun is also a star by nicola yoon!
ermm...im not sure exactly what you mean by style, but like clothing style? im going to go with that. i love clothes in general, i go thrifting a lot. like a LOT. i have no idea how to sum up my style tbh, but maybe look at the 'what you wore' thread to see some of my outfits. im very flashy sometimes though, and building outfits is my favorite thing.
i have one sister, she's almost ten; what about you? i know you said you have a brother--is he older, do you have any other siblings?
do you listen to any podcasts? im currently obsessed with this paranormal horror fic podcast called the magnus archives, which is amazing. i also like this podcast called 'self obsessed' by tam kaur.
and sorry for writing so much...i just get so excited about these chat threads lol :D
(May 1, 2024 - 11:23 am)
sorry, it's been a beat! but I promise I am here :) your play sounds.. awesome! or horrible. or maybe both? sounds like a concept I would come up with at 2am with my best friend :) awesome role too, that's a lot of liines! ALSO I LOVE WICKED. First show I fell in love with and saw on broadway and really blew my mind wow. maybe in the futuer we'll meet and be glinda/elphaba and never know...
I meant the type of music my brother listens to lol. we have playlists for each other and for some reason your vibes are super similar. so glad you liked them, yes "pretty girls" is one of my favs too—the music video is amazing.
I've been meaning to read more Kazuo Ishiguro so i'll check out the buried giant. actually, i've been meaning to read more in general. I love getting into books but it had definitely been more sporatic lately due to lack to time and brainpower. does this happen to you? still, no excuses for not reading! cats cradle also seems super cool. I will put the titles down in some random note app and find them again in 2 years and 7 months.
haha I'll read any gay romances, anything heartstopper style :) Also into fantasy and sci-fi and historical fiction and weird books that make me question reality. I usually hate memoirs/biographies from a principal stanpoint but sometimes, occasionally, they are so good I must admit to liking them *sigh* crying in h-mart was one of those. umm as I said I've been in a bit of a slump so :/ the last book I read and loved was the poppy war by R. F. Kuang, it's a bit heavy but not any more than other fantasy books. for some reason it just hit me really hard. I was also in the middle of covid though so my judgement may be questionable. I've heard inheritance games mentioned a couple times (maybe by you?) so I will check it out! Looks cool and I love puzzle-y books.
speaking of puzzles, are you a word game person? or board game person in general? any favorites.
yes, I meant clothing style :) your outfits are so unique and cool! if I had to name it I would say you have a "flowery cargo doc martens aesthetic" but idk. I like thrifting too! but I am super indecisive on what to buy.
I have two brothers and one sister, though they are all out of the house (college and beyond). what's it like to be the older sibling? do you like it?
don't usually listen to podcasts unless it's the daily on the way to school. it's cool that you do though! what kind of stories have you heard—do you have a favorite?
do you like animals? I have a dog and he is pure energy and joy and the best thing ever. do you have any pets? If you could have ANY pet (fictitious is ok too) what would it be and why? also, opinions on school? do you love it or hate it? favorite classes? least favorite lunch? teachers? funny pranks?

hi! yes my play was...really insane. the director wrote in approximately 1 week, which may or may not have been a good idea.
also wicked was the first show i saw on broadway as well! i actually travelled to new york for my 12th birthday so i got to see it in nyc which was awesome.
ooh have you read fake dates and mooncakes? i love that book :D tbh im just a big romance fan, so any kind i will typically read. and omg. i have been recommended the poppy war a trillion times. i really should grab it from the library, but i keep forgetting. also its likely that i have talked about the inheritance games before, i pretty much recommend it in any 'im in a book slump' threads lol.
im definitely a word game person, i do really like board games but unfortunately most of my friends prefer nintendo or similar, so i dont really play them a lot. i am more of a card game person though, my favorites are probably exploding kittens or sushi go, maybe unstable unicorns? and i love mastermind lol.
lol yeah i feel like that sums up my style pretty well! i like to try different aesthetics out, personally my favs are y2k, coquette, fairycore, and downtown girl. i kinda mix those together in my outfits. do you have a personal style?
honestly idk about being an older sibling...its interesting...lol. honestly it's okay, but sometimes i do wish i was the younger one.
im not sure im allowed to share the stories i've heard since its a horror podcast. :'(
i love animals!! i have two dogs, one a 16-year old toy poodle with one eye and four teeth, and a new addition, a mini poodle puppy who was the runt of her litter, we named her gracie mae after my grandma who recently passed away. and yes she is a little ball of joy i literally love her so much. when we got her she was just barely 3 pounds. no joke she fit in just my cupped hands!
if i could have any pet...honestly idk. my current dogs are my favorite thing ever.
currently i am homeschooled...so my thoughts on school are kinda different, but i may be going to a private school this upcoming school year. i like school, i really love literature in general, math is kinda eh...one of my teachers really likes fishing, whenever one of us goes on a vacation he always tries to convince us to go fishing--apparently he got stabbed in the stomach with a catfish last week...lol. he's a great teacher but really crazy.
what are your friends like? do you play any sports? what's something you're looking forward to? oh and are you in any fandoms/hyperfixated on a topic currently?
also enjoy a photo of gracie mae playing cards. :D

Oh wow. that's... honestly pretty impressive. yeah I drove up to nyc with some cousins and wicked was absolutely amazing and stunning and so cool.
you should definitely read poppy war haha. I finished inheritance games and thought it was fun! some of the romance stuff got me cliched at times but i enjoyed it overall.
aww board games are the best. i don't play nintendo or videogames kind of stuff much but could be fun. except for online webgames/puzzles, those can be fun. a dark room and similar. hmm... exploding kittens can be fun! i rlly like dixit and bananagrams. also poker is fun w/ friends in a very casual trash-talking fun way.
yeah me too my aesthetic varies by day, i just try to look cute yk? it has def been changing over the last year. im not sure how I would describe my style. pretty casual, jeans or cargos kinda stuff with a cute top and maybe some light mascara or wtv. it definitely varies.
your dogs sound so cute!! GRACIE MAE IS ADORABLE! what are poodles like?
huh. what is homeschool like? I feel that I would be painfully antisocial but maybe have more time? and either have really high or really low self esteem. good luck if you end up in private school! I love literature too but sometimes I can't stand English class—it just gets so subjective and complex for no reason at all. Sometimes its fun though.
um... ig you should go fishing? I've tried but literally always fail.
my friends are cool! My best friend and I are super chaotic together they make no sense and I love them for it. i'm a year into a new school and have made friends i really like! though it's sometimes hard, being social completely tires me out. im pretty happy overall though. where do you make friends?
i'm a dancer so yes, i guess? I don't dance competitively or anything though. just for fun and for musical theater. I'm taking dance at school and love it. do you play sports?
I'm looking forward to... SUMMER! finals are going to be rough though I have a busy next three weeks :/ all good stuff though. on that note i'm sorry about not replying the quickest. that will probably continue unfortunately. i do like chatting with you though! thank you for the topping :) i will be as active as i can.
questions: do you have any good jokes? secret hobbies? I'm not fixated on anything rn, but are you? if you could go into any book/be any character, which one and why? what is your optimal going to bed time/wake up time?
(May 13, 2024 - 11:13 pm)
omg yes poker is the best! that and blackjack are really fun to play with friends lol
im so sad because gracie just got spayed but on the bright side she has to wear an adorable pink grapefruit onesie so she doesn't lick her stitches. i cannot get enough of her. as for what poodles are like...im not sure. they're definitely very smart and easy to train, and ours are very playful.
homeschool is....interesting. i guess it was a lot easier when i was younger, and before covid and stuff. i used to be in a 'co-op' which is basically where homeschoolers meet once a week for a school day. unfortunately that closed down and there's not a lot of those where i live, so i haven't gone to a new one.
mostly i make friends at extracurriculars and through other friends, also if my parents' friends have kids i guess.
i used to do dance, but it wasn't really my thing i guess? i've done rowing for two years, i think? actually i got chosen along with four other teammates to go to a select rowing camp in vermont! i found out last night and im really happy because last year i didn't get chosen and like two of my friends did so that was kind of frustrating for me.
i honestly don't have any good jokes. lol. what about u?
and...hm...secret hobbies. i wouldn't say this is really secret, but i like to sew. im not the best at it, but im making progress.
currently fixated on that podcast i told you about earlier, the magnus archives? that and the hunger games. i absolutely love the hunger games haha.
i would definitely want to go into love and gelato, i really want to go to italy and i love the characters in that book.
i typically go to bed around ten, and i wake up at like...7/7:30. i'd prefer 9pm probably but that doesn't really happen.
questions: do you know what your personality type is? like myers-briggs? i'm an enfp. if you could live anywhere, where would it be? and..hm. if you could have anyone as a dinner guest, dead or alive, who would it be?
(May 14, 2024 - 9:52 am)
my last post for this thread! thanks for chatting with me and so so sorry for being inactive—
I really like blackjack! My school had a poker night and we played as a class which was quite fun. your puppy is so adorable and cute and I just want to hug she just seems awesome!
yeah covid messed up a lot of stuff. I'm glad you've found other ways to meet people tho!
rowing sounds awesome, I have a friend who likes to row too! it seems like a sport that need a lot of mental strength. it can be hard when you don't get picked for something—theater is like that a lot lol. I'm happy for you and vermont sounds awesome! do you sew your own clothes because that definitely just gives you an automatic coolness boost.
oh I love the hunger games too.
hmm idk what that book is but italy is gorgeous and wonderful and amazing so i get that.
wow you wake up much earlier than me I'm impressed.
I'm not sure, whenever I take the test I'm very close to 50% for extrovert and introvert. I'm definitely feeling and judgin though. I would live in a. new york or b. switzerland. New york because of the showbiz and people and everything... and switzerland because it is so beautiful that time seems to stop when you go there! and I would have... gosh idk. Randall Munroe? the xkcd guy.
(June 26, 2024 - 4:38 pm)
topping! also here's a photo of my puppy again. lol.
