Does anyone remember when Ella Starburst left and some CBers redid the MCU and it was great for a while and then it ended? 'Cause I do. I think we should revive it for real this time!
Only problem is I have no idea what is in an MCU. Would anyone like to do a part?
I can make a monthly riddle! And my AEs would love to participate!

MCU stands for "Monthly Check-Up," and it's sort of like a monthly newspaper for CBers to read. The MCU usually has a "last month we asked you" where before the MCU is made, someone posts a question and everyone responds. Their answers are put in the MCU. Does that make any sense?
There's also an advice column, and a Location of the Month contest, where everyone makes up a location and whoever is running the contest says their favorite in the MCU. The advice column is when someone asks a question for advice, everyone responds, and all answers are in the MCU.
You can also do a special days of the month calendar for national holidays and normal holidays. Or you can come up with something of your own, like I did! AEs can be in any part of it, such as making comments on the days of the month or asking for advice of their own.
So if you'd still like to pitch in, is there anything you'd like to do?

ah, ok. I was trying to keep this a secret.
But, I'm revamping the MCU already.
I've designed some AEs for it, and writen the first post already (for December), and was really prepared for The Doodle Society to make it's debut.
I'm sorry if y'all were really excited to do this, but when everyone was doing a part, it just got confusing and complicated and I don't think it was the best idea :\

Wait a second. I was thinking about how much I miss the MCU and I clicked on This Month and here it is! So yes, I would be glad to contribute!!
Let's see... in the old MCU I think there was an advice column, important dates, a location of the month, and LMWAY (Last Month We Asked You, which is basically just a monthly question). Don't forget lots of scarcastic AE banter! We also generally pick one host for each MCU.

Oh. Well, Writing's been working hard on an MCU of their own, so I wouldn't want to spoil it for them. I guess we can't do it then *shurg* can't wait to see yours, though, Writing! :D

I think the reason why the MCU fell apart was that sections weren't being submitted on time. Personally I think it worked and once we had it organized a bit it wasn't too messy. I think it is a little unfair to not want us to restart the MCU when everyone is so excited about doing it together and not just one person. I do understand being upset, especially when you have worked hard on something that you were excited to bring out as a surprise. It has happened to me before, and I was really disppointed. But I was looking forward to making the MCU with everyone. Do you think we could work together? Something like: you could compile all the sections together and add the AE banter with your AEs?
I really hope the above didn't sound mean, because I truely did not write it to be so.

That might be cool! Writing and their AEs would make great hosts! And Writing, if you wanted, we could still call it the Doodle Society. I'd definitely be able to commit, too, I have a book of 300 riddles. But it's ok if you don't want to, Writing. Although I see Peregrine's point, I don't want to make you upset. This just feels to me like a good compromise.

Regardless of whether or not we collaborate in the future, I think we should let Writing write the first month on their own, then we can go from there.
