Favorite magazine covers
This isn't really about this month's magazine but it'd still about the magazine, also there might a thread like this already but I don't know of one. I was just wondering about your favorite magazine cover. Mine are the 2016 November/December one with the cats and the 2017 January one with the frost dragon. A funny thing is that when I got the January one I thought the people on the dragon's back were some sort of animal face, because the faces look like eyes and the one arm looks like a long nose. I couldn't figure out what kind of animal it was, then I FINALLY figured out that it was two people. So what were your favorite covers?

I really like the September 2013 cover with the map of Cricket country. Probably my favorite cover so far in my 3 years of getting Cricket.

Aw, man! How come my family's subscription ended in 2012 and I didn't get Cricket until 2015?

Hiya! My favorite mag cover is the same - January 2017 cover. And also, the face. That part weirded me out until I discovered it was some guy's. Maybe elves???

P.S. Anyway, I didn't say something after those few sentences. Uh...anyway...

Is there any way you could post a pic of the map of Cricket Country? I'd love to see that.
As for my favorites, I really liked March 2016 (I think it was) with Narcissus on the cover, and this month's. I've only been getting Cricket since Jan. 2016, so...
I would think that might be possible. I'll pass the request on to our webmaster and art director.

Well, if it would be allowed, I have that issue, so I could post a picture of the cover...
Yes, it's allowed. If it's Cricket magazine you're talking about (or another magazine from Cricket Media).

Looks like it's time to dig through however many years of old Cricket mags I have. Buckle up, this is going to be long.
April 2006. That's the first one I have, and I still love that cover. I don't remember how much I read when I got it, but for years I thought it was just another boring magazine. When I picked it up all that time later and actually read it, I subscribed right away.
October 2012 is my next chronological favorite, the apple-picking scene with the girl standing on the horse's back, and March 2013 after that, with the girl who drew cats on the bridge in that garden.
And then May/June 2014, one of my favorite Cricket covers of all time. Those dragons... That girl, I love that girl and those beautiful dragons. It's just devastatingly gorgeous. Four elemental dragons gathered around a glowing girl who reaches out to the fifth, away from the others, blending into the background of sky and stars.
After that, there's September, October and November/December 2014, the telescope, the glowing eyes under the dock with the shouting, pointing boy and the man in the boat, and Fable Thatcher and Araceli/Lumine sitting on a rafter looking at the book.
Then comes another of my absolute favorites: February 2015, the one with Pippa and the Dragonfly. I love that picture and the others that go with it and the story, and I love the story, too. The immersive style of the artwork and the steampunk quality of both the cover and story are wonderful. It's one of the most memorable issues I have.
I like March, April and May/June 2015, too, the boy under the bare trees, the Greek or Greek-style vase, and the beach at sunset.
May/June 2016 had me drawing mandala-ish henna designs for weeks afterwards, the subject of the July/August was so peaceful and lovely, and that warm and wild golden-hour scene of the September issue was simply amazing. I adore the styles and colors of all three.
This year's January issue cover was enchanting, I agree. I love dragons, as you may or may not know, and that frost dragon was stunning. And those are my favorites.

Hi!
I'm thrilled to see that a couple of my covers made the list. As the artist, I can tell you more about the people on the back of the January Frost Dragon. A friend of mine had taken a photo of his window with frost and some frozen drops of water that looked like faces looking out of fur parkas. I started thinking about using them in a frosty window image, and the Frost Dragon was born.

Wait--You're the artist that did the Frost Dragon on the January 2017 cover? Posting here on the CB!? How is this happening? That is SO COOL.

My favorite so far was the July/August 2016. Those ibises or whatever they are are so pretty!

I loved the January Frost Dragon, as well as the July/August 2015 cover picture with the dogs riding in the car. That one was really cute!
@Viola, I would love to see the one with the girl and the dragons! It sounds so cool! Any chance you could post a picture? I've only been getting Cricket for...hmmm...two, three years? I think it's been three years.

Oh, another mag cover I love was the July/August 2017 cover. The one with the watercolor turtle underwater. That one was just stunning! And then there was the...April 2017 I think it was? Or, no, was it May? The one with the fat horse. It wasn't my favorite, but it was cute.

I actually really like this one (sept. 2017), I don't know why. It's not a fancy or poetic one, I just... like it.
