Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue
Oh dear! I
Oh dear!
I just read the description of the May/June issue of Cricket, and there are two repeated stories!
First, the one about the Persian king who wanted to fly. It was in the January 2007 issue.
And the one called Boo. Our issue with the first part of it has the cover ripped off, so I don't know what month it was from, but after some sleuthing in the copyrights of the poems and things, I now know that it's from 2004.
I understand that probably most people who were reading Cricket in 2004 probably aren't still reading it, but I'm just distressed because I won't even be able to read about 1/4 of my May/June magazine because I've read both of those stories at least four times each so there just isn't any point to me reading them again! Ack!
Well, that's all I have to say.

Well, I was born in 2004, so...

Yeah, I was born in 2005. But my brother and sister got Cricket for a really long time before that, so we have boxes and stacks and boxes of old Crickets.

That sounds utterly amazing. Not the repeated stories, I mean, the boxes and boxes of Cricket! Wow!

I thought you were older than me! I was born in September 2004!

Goodness!
Admins, how do you select stories for the mag?
It's a collaboration of readers and editors. We get hundreds of manuscripts each month and select the very best for publication. We also reprint some stories from books.

I think it's good to repeat stories a few years later if they're really good so that new people who get Cricket get to read them.

I wasn't even ALIVE in 2004... I was born in 2006... XD
It's wierd to think how a magazine is WAY older than you. <0_0>
