Admin,  my computer doesn't have those new numbers at the bottom of long threads. Is there a problem?

Don't know. Each page on a thread is now set to hold only 15 comments. If there are more than 15 comments on the thread, then there will be more pages to view, which are indicated by the numbers at the bottom of the first page. If there are less than 15 comments, as on a new thread, there won't yet be any little numbers at the bottom.
