Chatterbox: In This Month's Issue
Okay, I think
Okay, I think that the May/June issue is sort of about Maine (no offense, Paige and Zoe) and cats. Why Maine and cats? There was already a issue about cats, and if you do an issue partly about Maine, are you going to have issues for all 49 other states? Please explain.
We just select good stories when they come to us or we find them, and a lot of them are about cats, and we had some good ones about Maine, too.

Well, I certainly don't want to offend the author of "Making Do," but I did find a few errors in it. The only one that really bothered me was that they misspelled "Ayuh!" They spelled it "Ehya!!" Oh, well... [And, I've never even heard of mastadon living in Maine... ;)] But, it must be really hard to write a story that 100%, about a state you don't live in!!!

Sorry, I did not find "Ehya" in my dictionary and many of my Maine friends who are writers read this story and had no problem with the word. I have never actually heard of a mastadon in Maine, but I want to remind you that this was a tall tale that Grandpa is telling. My niece worked on digging up a Mastadon in Grand Rapids, Michigan (who knew they ever lived there?). and that gave me the idea. Actually I have lived in Maine for a huge part of every year since l977.
