An Unusual Worm
There was a poem in the October 2015 issue of Cricket about a planarian (named Mo). I recently took home 5 planaria from my science class as pets, and have been keeping them in a water-filled bowl on my counter. My science teacher says that if you cut a planarian in half, the side with a head already will actually grow two heads. I want to try it! I ended up keeping the little guys in a container during school all day long, and I kept talking about how adorable they were and how I was so excited about cutting their heads off. Cloudy Dweller told me that I need to have my head examined. I probably do ;)

That's so cool! Can you take a picture of the heads?

I cut one, and it looks like it is growing back, but it will take a long time to grow another head. I'll take a picture of them and post it.

I'd like to see the picture!

I'd love to see! It's so weird, but cool at the same time. :P

I just learned via the web that they only grow two heads on one body if cut in a certain place. I cut one in half... I'll see what it does. I'll post a pic of them when I'm on the computer instead of iPad.

Great! I eagerly await your post.

Goodness! I lost one of the halves (it was nearly microscopic!) the other half grew back, though.

Can you guys see the pic posted above?

Yes! Where did the smoke come from?

Smoke? I think its my countertop.

Oh! Your countertop is white-ish! Okay. That makes a lot more sense.
