Because Mama had "competition" and Martha June was just helping, so Martha June wasn't so riled up.  I liked this story a lot, just saying.

I like this story too! It should be a lesson to most adults. Kids AREN'T  gullible at all! So grownups of the world, QUIT TRYING TO TELL ME THE FAIRIES AREN'T REAL!!!!! OF COURSE THEY ARE!!!
