Extended edition? OMG. That is the longest movie ever. Over four hours!!!! It was depressing, I know.  But there's tons of good stuff too!  I know the Frodo/Sam stuff in Mordor is pretty awful, but how can you just not love Eowyn killing the Witch-king?  The army of the Dead completely finishing off the Orcs?  Legolas taking down an Oliphaunt single-handedly?  Barad-dur crumbling and the eye of Sauron vanishing AT LAST??? I love the Lord of the Rings.  Can you tell? :)

Yeah.... I loved that battle with Eowyn. 
I didn't watch the extended edition, but it still took me forever to watch. And I love the part when Gimli says "That still counts as one!" after Legolas killed the elephant thing.

YESS!!! Legolas and Gimli are so funny.  "Shall I describe it to you, or would you like me to find you a box?" Laughing HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

Okay, I could go on like this for some time.  My sister and I who are both LOTR freaks have held hour long rant/rave/pseudoconversations about the movies...
