Rest in Peace Mr. Edward Hardwicke.
Age 78, Mr. Hardwicke died from cancer last monday, the 16 in a hospice in Chichester in southern England. He is much mourned by his friends and family.
He had two daughters and a wife who loved him very much.
Mr. Hardwicke is most remembered for his eight year role as Dr. John Watson in the Granada TV show, Sherlock Holmes staring Jeremy Brett.
He was also well known for his extensive works in the theatre.
in Jeremy Brett's own words, "He is(was) a darling. A lovely man." He was indeed.
Rest in peace, Mr. Hardwick, you shall remain treasured in our hearts.

Thank you so much for letting us know. I really loved Mr. Hardwicke in "The Sign of Four" - he did a great job of portraying Watson as the person he is, not a bumbling fool.*coughNigelBrucecough* Rest in peace.
