I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe when I was 8 but I haven't read ay of the other books... I haven't seen the movie but from what I heard, they left out a whole lot of facts. That's just what I heard though so I'm not sure. I'll have to see it myself.

I adore Lewis. I loathed this movie. That is all.

Yeah, they had to cut out a TON of stuff that was in the book and then it seemed to me that the movie was really short, but it was actually 2 hours long...:)

I didn't really like the movie extremely much, mostly because of the sea monster episode and the green mist. I was also influenced by the fact that I saw it in 3D, but it had been really badly converted. I did like the way some of the islands were combined.
However, I LOVE the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe 2005 adaptation. It's not exactly like the book, and maybe it's just because all the characters were so similar to what I imagined (with the exception of Edmund), but I think they did a great job with that one. They managed to make it into an awesome movie as a movie, and a pretty good adaptation of the book.
Caspian was also an okay movie, but very Disneyfied and badly adapted from the book. What bothered me the most was that Peter and Caspian kept having this unexplained power struggle, whereas in the book, Peter recognizes that it's Caspian's turn now and they get along great.

Yeah, I totally agree! The green mist was kind of weird. We saw it in 3D too, and it didn't do anything really. But Eustace was so funny! He was a lot like I imagined he would be in my head. "There once were two children who wasted their time, believing in Narnian nursery rhyme.." :)

The original quote was actually "Two kids who played games about Narnia / gradually grew balmier and balmier." /canonpurism
Though, yes, movie!Eustace was win. "Note to self: Investigate legal ramifications (?) of impaling relatives."

"Well, Narnia and balmier don't rhyme to begin with," said Lucy.
I was a bit disappointed they didn't use the actual quote, because since the kid had an English accent it would have worked. The character was a success overall, though.
"I AM EUSTACE"
"You've got to be joking."

Yeah, if you say it with an English accent it actually does kinda work.

I read the books a long time ago, and love the movies, so when I heard Dawn Treader was coming out I re-read the book right before I saw the movie and was thoroughly impressed with what a good job they did.
I don't get why everybody thinks they're horrible, I love them! <3

For people who dislike:
Watch with DVD cast commentary and watch special features; it helps you realize how much effort everyone involved put into it to make it realistic, short, believable, true to the book, and true to what fans/readers interpret the book as and/or remember about the book. But I think they did one heck of a great job with what they had and with such high expectations.
