Meh, I like the books but I wouldn't want to watch the movie. It would be far too bloody for me - I can stand violence if I'm only reading about it, but not onscreen.

Exactly, ZNZ. Funny, I just saw the date yesterday and my sister was *HAPPY* and I was like "Uh... I don't think I'll watch that...." It'll be terribly violent and nasty, I'm sure. And if Hollywood ruins it and just makes it all about the violence, and casts stupid people, I'll just be so, so, so mad. BUT, since I like the books, I might watch the movies, but not in theater. :D

TOP!

Ha, it comes out three days before my birthday. :) We'll see, I may see it. I hope they don't ruin it... But as ZNZ said, it could be a bit to violent for me. I'm way better with that sort of thing in books than in movies. Ehh, as I said, we'll see. My only request is that they don't completely mess it up.

I AM A CRAZED FAN AND I LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES! I HOPE THEY MAKE THE MOVIE LIKE THE BOOK! <3 :0 ;)

The producer said they aren't going for extreme gore, and they are aiming for PG-13, so even though it wouldn't be appropriate for everyone it wouldn't be completely bloody and awful... I hope. The casting director is the same person from the fourth Twilight movie, but I don't think that's the same person who gave Robert Pattinson a lead.... *shudders. The casting director said they are hoping to get someone more unknown to play Katniss, but there won't be open auditions.

According to Wikipedia, Lionsgate did Akeelah and the Bee and the Madea movies. They also did the Saw movies. They're aiming for a PG-13 rating.
I now have a countdown until the release date!!!

Oh, I adore Akeelah and the Bee.

Me too!!

@Katie: I think Catherine Hardwick casted Robert, not the Hunger Games casting director. (I think her name's Debra Zane) :-)
Gary Ross is directing. He did Sea Biscuit.

That's what my sister and I were saying. Katniss can't be someone famous, who everyone already knows. She has to be someone unkown to Hollywood... and be totally amazing. :) I wonder who will play Finnick and Peeta. You can find many provacative men for Finnick.... :D
(January 29, 2011 - 6:16 pm)
Oooooh, Sea Biscuit! I haven't seen that for ages!!!
