For a while we talked about Quidditch and how I wanted to be the best seeker ever! After a while the train stopped. "We're here!" I shouted. We both jumped off the train, and onto the platform. I looked up and saw the biggest man I had ever seen. I nudged Areena, and she looked up, awstruck. "Wow," she muttered. "Ya," I agreed. The man looked right down at me when he said, "Hello, my name is Rubeus Hagrid. I am the Care of Magical Creatures teacher." He smiled. I smiled back. He seemed very nice for a half-giant-looking thing. From behind me I heard someone mutter, "Boy this place has gone to the dogs. When my father and mother told me they were sending me here, I expected a bit better staff." I turned to see who it was. Behind me was a very spindly, thin boy with white hair that seemed to shine a ghostly gray in the moonlight. He was standing next to two kids that looked like trolls to me. They both had pale skin and rosy cheeks, they looked pretty delicate for troll-faces. The boy who had been the one talking also had very pale skin and looked like he could only weigh about 66 pounds even. I could take him easy. "Why don't you try talking about someone who'll actually care. What you think? I dunno, like your mummy and daddy?" I smirked. He made a snarling face, like an upside-down donkey. Come to think of it, he looked quite like a donkey really. "Shut up, mud-blood." He smirked. I made the angriest face I could think of. "I am NOT a mud-blood," I whispered angrily. "Oh ya? Prove it, vamp!" He smirked at the sight of my surprised face. How could he know? "Shut up, paper face." He didn't like that, but he didn't say anything else. While I had been arguing with him, Hagrid had finished his introduction. We were now getting into boats. I took one look at the black water and decided not to look down again. Areena, who was sitting right next to me, elbowed me in the arm. I looked up. What I saw was definitely Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was a castle, complete with stone towers and a drawbridge. The only way to get to it seemed to be by the lake, but I had seen older kids heading into the forest. I wondered why, but didn't care enough to ask. I'd find out next year anyway. The boat shook, and I noticed that we were taking off, heading for the best place on earth: Hogwarts.

Sky and I shared a boat across the lake, and we didn't say much. We weren't saying much, but she asked, "Why do the older kids go into the forest?" She pointed in the other direction. "I think that they take these carriage things and go through another route." "Oh, how would you know that?" "My brother went here. He was in Gryffindor." "Oh cool. Maybe you'll be in Gryffindor." "Probably, the only one not to go into his family's house was Sirius Black, and he was the godfather to Harry Potter!" We started talking about how he was so amazing, how he killed Voldemort, and how he was such an amazing seeker.

We talked about Harry Potter the whole time until we got to the shore. "Here we are," I said nerviously. When we got off the boat, Hagrid took us right up to a hall in front of two very large doors inside Hogwarts. *All right first years, Professor Magonagle (How do you spell that? McGonagall via Google, you did pretty well--Admin) will take it from here. Professor.* A tall old-looking lady walked into the hallway, and Hagrid went into the room beyond the doors. I tried to get a good look at what was inside, but eventually I gave up. We were going in in about five minutes anyway. *Hello first years.* McGonagall said. *Inside these doors you will be sorted into your houses. Slytherin, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. While you are here your house will be like your family. You will earn points for good things, and lose points if you do something wrong. At the end of the year you will compete for the house cup. Whichever house gets it keeps it until a different house wins it. Right now Gryffindor has it.* A very very small man walked into the room and whispered something to McGonagall. *We are ready for you now,* she said, then she lead us inside. The room was huge with a ceiling that looked like the night sky. Candles' fire flickered above us. Not even Jason made a sound. (By the way he's a first year now too.) We stood in a big huddle in front of a table with a dusty ripped old wizard hat on it. "We're going to have to wear that?" the boy behind me asked. I turned again to see the annoying paper-faced jerk. "Why don't you take it home and give it to your mummy for valentine's day?" I asked. Just as he looked like he was gonna punch me, McGonagall yelled, *Roscot, Tonas.* I stared at the weird name as the paper-faced boy walked up. The hat had barly touched his head when it shouted #SLYTHERIN!#. I stared as he walked proudly towrd the Slytherin table. "I had better not get in Slytherin," I muttered. Areena nodded in agreement. *McBrown, Summer!* McGonagall called. My heart beat faster. I saw Areena flash me a thumbs-up. I sat on the stool. McGonagall put the hat on my head. Hmmmm, dificult. Slytherin, or Gryffindor? Maybe even Ravenclaw? a small musty cracked voice said in my head. The hat! It was talking to me. "Gryffindor," I muttered so silently only the hat heard. I kept saying Gryffindor, hoping the hat would get the hint. Gryffindor? Really? I haven't had anybody ask me for that house since Harry Potter. Come to think of it, I haven't had anyone ask me for a specific house since Potter was here. But if you're sure? #Yes!# I thought. Well all right then. *Gryffindor!* the hat shouted. I sighed in relief. Thanks, I thought before McGonagall could take the hat off. I hopped off the stool and made it to my new table. I looked back, and I could swear that the hat shot me a wink and a smile. I smiled back. *(Whatever Areena's last name is), Areena!* McGonagall called. I flashed Areena a smile and a thumbs-up. She smiled weakly back at me. I sat and waited for the hat to make its decision. Or, even for Areena to make her decision.

I walked up to the stool, scared stiff, and looked over at Sky. She gave me the thumbs up, and I smiled and nodded. I was ready. I started praying to all the gods that I knew of, for I was Greek. Ahh, I Greek head I rest on I see. The hat said to me. Haven't had one of these in a while. I began to get nervous, but I knew what house I was going to be in. My family has been in Gryffindor forever, and there was no way I was going from having my mother never want to leave my side to never wanting to see me again. "GRYFFINDOR" The hat yelled. The whole hall cheered, but there could have been a bit more entusiasm from the Slytherin side. But I didn't care. I took a seat across from Sky and talked with my new family.

"Great! We're both in Gryffindor! I can't wait to get my first class!" I turned as the sorting went on. *Shard, Jason!" I looked up at the hat. A few seconds after the hat went on his head it shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!" My smile slipped off my face in dismay. Areena looked at me sympathetically. *Come on, don't let him ruin it for you,* she said. I looked at her sadly. But soon the light flashed back into my eyes. "You're right! Let's eat!" I said looking down at the plates on the table. They had been magically transformed, and now they were piled high with all of my favorites. We ate happily, then there was dessert. Every treat you could imagine: ice cream, chocolate, bird pastries (Canary cream, swan strudle, and blue jay pie to list a few), and many more. I piled my plate with everything that looked good (I must say that I did stay away from the black licorice, and something that uncannily resembled a bogie)
After we ate I told Areena I wanted first pick for the bunks, and we happily made our way toward the common room.

I glanced up. Jason Shard got put into Gryffindor. "Git." I muttered. Areena looked at my sympathetically. "Hey, don't let him ruin your good time," she said. I smiled at her greatfully. While we ate we talked and talked about our schedules. Eventually dinner ended, and we started arguing and laughing about who would get first pick with the bunks.

Ooops, I wrote the same thing twice. Just ignore my last post. Just like the first one about the common room is the right one. So, ya just ignore the last one.
(October 21, 2010 - 8:58 pm)
"Okay, I'm totally gonna get first choice!" "No way, I think that I will totally get it, 'cause..." She trailed off as we ran into Jason. "Oh, hi Areena. Hi Fangs." "Git." Sky muttered. "Well, see you later." "Sureeee," I said. We walked towards the common room. "What was that about?" "Oh, I think he likes me." I said that with disgust and opened the door to the common room. We stopped in awe at the sight. It was a cozy room with a fireplace. Two comfy looking chairs were next to it, along with a large coffee table. There were two spiral staircases going up to the top, and on the side of the room was a little window popping out, and I could picture someone sitting in there. Rain splattered against the windows, and we practically raced up to the girls' room. I jumped onto the bottom bunk, I don't know why but I like bottoms, and she got onto the top. "No need to argue, I guess!" We laughed and tried on our new hats and scarfs. A few other girls filed in, and we ate remnants of trolly candy and slept in our new beds.

That morning when we got up I quickly got dressed. Sitting on all of our trunks was a scroll. We unrolled it to find our scedule. I yellped with delight. I gigled. "Ooops, sory. It's just, I've got charms first!" I said happily. "Me to!" Areena said happily. "After breakfast, lets go!" We ran down the stairs, and into the main floor. I figured we'd slept in because no one was there. We shrugged, and made our way to the great hall. "Wow." I muttered. In the daylight the castle looked twice as amazeing. Light streaming in through the stained glass windows, painting the sceen below difrent colors. And what was funny was that the gold and maroon fell onto the Gryffandire table. The green and silver fell on the Slytherin table. The blue and silver on the Ravenclaw table, and the yellow and black on the Hufflepuff table. It was probubly the most amazeing thing I had ever seen, aside from the common room. We took a while to eat since there were so many good things to chose from. But eventualy we did finish. "Lets-" I broke off as Jason made his way over to us. "What do you want now Jason?" I asked. I had almost said git. *Nothin, just to tell you theres some un-cooked meat in the kitchen, and I know how you like to drink blood!" He made a chomping motion with his mouth. "I do NOT like to drink blood! Plus I thought the house elfs were saveing it for you. You know, so you could make yourself a sister out of it!" I really don't know why I said that, but he turned pale and walked away muttering to himself about how girls were idiots. I rolled my eyes. Areena laughed, and I smiled. "Come on, now lets go!"
((Can the first spell they learn be whengardrium leviosa? It is the first spell that Harry, Ron and Hermionie learn))

Jason snickered and walked away. Sky and I raced towards the charms room. I looked down on my teacher (that sentence is so strange :) ) He was really that small! I found a spot, and he hobbled onto a stack of like 10 books to see over his desk. We grabbed our wands and sat down. "Now, children, let's practice the swish and flick!" He took his own wand, but when he flicked it, sparks came out and the wand flew out of his hand. I forgot that we were in Charms with Slytherin. I rolled my eyes and looked over at Sky. She did the same and we practiced with wands. On the first try Professor Flitwick acknowledged me. Sky did amazing too, she almost made the feather rise! I tried my best, and soon the feathers were rising like each was a small puppet, recieving the slightest commands from the puppeteer.

Areena caught onto the lesson prity esily. It took me a couple more trys to get it right. But eventually I made the feather fly, and even flick Roscot's nose. Roscot was such a weird name, I dicided to just call him Tonas, his last name. He muttered and punched me in the face. My nose was bleeding, and there was a cut on my cheek. I lifted him about 10 feet in the air and droped him. He groaned, and his arm looked broken. He raised his wand to shoot annother spell at me, but PProffesor Flitwick shouted, *STOP!* It was so loud that I was amazed a little guy like that could even make such a noise. Our heads both looked at him. The hatered in our eyes was for each-other, not him. *McBrown, Tonas, Hospital wing, NOW! (Areena's last name here) Go with them! Detention for the two of you for the next week!* I narrowed my eyes at Tonas, but fallowed Areena to the Hospital Wing anyway. When we got there the nurse fixed us up, easy. But she told us we had to sleep there just for tonight. I was so annoyed that I had to miss all my classes. What an idiot Tonas is. He made this happen. I wasn't goin' to the Hospital Wing without gettin' back at 'im. I wanted to punch him, but I didn't.
(October 23, 2010 - 9:05 am)
I tried to calm Sky down. She was getting really mad at Tonas, but it was mainly Tonas's fault. He couldn't take a joke. I stayed with Sky for a bit, but then I had to go to Transfiguration. Professor McGonagall taught us the basics, how to turn pencils into worms, marbles into snails. Professor Sprout needed fertilizers. Next was lunch, a grabbed a ham sandwich, some pumpkin juice, and a peach for Sky. I went up to the hospital wing and checked on Tonas to make sure that Sky hadn't murdered him in the past hour. "Why'd you do that?" she asked. "You don't really need a murder on your first day, do you?" We laughed, and I looked at her bedside table. "Well someone has turned into Mrs. Popular!" I joked. "What do you mean?" "I think that you have like a secret admirerer or something."
(October 23, 2010 - 2:53 pm)

I was quite confused. But I looked at my bedside table. There were about 20 cards for me. 3 of them were from the same person. The others were from people who were congratulating me about downing Tonas. "Wow." I grabbed one. I read it out loud.
Sky-
Wow, great job! I am so glad that someone finally took down Tonas. What you did was amazing! I would never have thought to use Whengardrium Leviosa like that. That was genius!
~Amanda Long (Gryffandore)
"Wow! Cool!" I smiled. Beside me Tonas groaned. *Glad you got yourself some real friends eh?* he asked. Areena got up and pulled out her wand. I turned to him, my wand at the ready to. "Watch your mouth, Tonas." Areena spat. I glared at him. He sneared, but didn't say anything else. *back to the cards,* Areena said. I laughed, but grabbed another.
Fangs-
Er, nice job with Tonas. Tell 'em he's a git for me. And tell him to watch 'is mouth or 'es gonna regret it!
~Jason Shard
The note was enouph to make me stop in my tracks. *Wow, I didn't know he had enough in 'im to even write you anythin'" Areena said. I laughed, really hard. "Well, at least we know he's got a little bit of heart. He did say I did a good job," I said. After I heard the tone of my voice, I put the letter down, embarrassed. Areena looked at me knowingly. ""Oh shut up," I said. Still embarrassed.
(October 23, 2010 - 6:10 pm)
I laughed at Sky. She was so tough sometimes, it was hard to imagine her being so embarrassed.
