Songwriters! Who writes
Songwriters! Who writes and sings or plays songs? I do, but I rarely write them down. I guess this could be in the Inkwell too, because songs are a lot like poems. So, if you want to, share your songs. Of course, you can't share the tunes, but we'll just guess!
I was going to post a song that I wrote recently, but I seem to have lost it or misplaced it! Ahhhhh (howls)!!

I write them down, but when I go through them, they don't sound as good. *groans*

Finally found the song! Obviously you can't hear the tune, but how do you think I can improve the lyrics? This could also go as a poem, actually. :)
Who goes there,
Who goes there singing?
Who goes there,
What be they bringing?
Who goes there crawling,
Who walking,
Who talking,
Who goes there falling?
Who goes there living,
Who goes there with life,
Who goes there giving,
Who goes without strife?
Who goes there in tatters,
Who goes without shatters,
Who without heart,
Who goes for a start?
Who goes there, I know not,
But I fancy they be,
Heart faint and rot,
All be like me.
We go there to mend,
To that sacred grove-place,
With tears there to spend,
And with sun light replace.
Who goes there singing?
Not I, for sure.
All go there bringing
A grimmest heart sore.
Who comes out singing,
Of this grove in the land?
We all come out singing,
Our courage at hand.

Anybody have their songs to share, or to comment on?!!
(May 12, 2010 - 12:16 pm)
I have written some, but they're, well, crippled without a tune.
Spammy says whgm.

Well, here's one in which the tune is simple. The tune of the verses are similar to the tune of the verses in, "Jingle bells."
You'd better get well soon
Or I'll send you to the moon
I hear the Lunar air makes sick ones well,
A dropper and some pills
will cure you of your ills
So that you can play with me!
Chorus:
Take
your medicine
every day,
Till'
it fights
your cold away,
Take your medecine
every day,
(descending notes) Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Second verse:
I want to get well soon.
Don't send me to the moon,
I read it doesn't have an atmosphere.
A dropper and some pills
will cure me of my ills
So that I can play with you!
-Chorus-

The beginning of a song!
The house is full
An empty page
She steps from the wings
onto the stage
Walks to the center
and into the spotlight
makes sure she knows her lines
it's opening night
Only the start, I'll post more later!
(May 28, 2010 - 12:02 pm)
I write them down and sing and play them on my guitar!

I wrote a song. Plz dont laff. I havent perfected it. Here we go.
I was always in the shadows. Never competing and I just let go. And even though I might be different, I want you to listen.
Chorus
I make the sun shine, I know that you'll always be mine. And as the day breaks, I say goodbye to all my aches. If you insult me, you will see, who I... will be.
I run around, uptown, downtown. My life is craaa-zy. But... extraordinary would be.. the way... to describe me.
Chorus
What ever happened to world peace, yeah? Evil takes over, oh please, yeah. And if you try, a little more, you won't feel so sore....
CHORUS
There. I hope u liked it! *** Rachel
