Music Genre Recommendations

Do you love listening to a particular genre, but want to find more songs within that genre? Or, conversely, do you want to recommend your favorite songs to everyone else who loves the same genres you do? Here you can ask for and give song recommendations based on their genre. Or you can go by the general style! For instance, if you love a particular Taylor Swift album and want to find similar music, you can ask if anyone knows of songs in that style!

Enjoy :)

Does anyone have any good pop/indie pop recs?

Of course! I'm afraid I don't really know of any indie pop songs, but here's a few mainstream pop songs that I really like (and I'm terribly picky about which pop I listen to, so hopefully the fact that I like them means that they're good?)

-Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus - I only discovered this one last month, and I love it! The theme of being comforted by your favorite songs is really relatable, and it's very upbeat and spunky :)

-Wake up America by Miley Cyrus - has a Very Important Message

-Adelante by Naiara - it's a little bit Celtic-sounding, a little bit Frozen-sounding, and it's powerful and inspiring.

-Ser Mejor from the Violetta TV series - uplifiting, inspiring, and beautiful to listen to

-Codigo Amistad from the Violetta TV series

-9 to 5 by Dolly Parton - humorous and relatable

-Mai by Giulano Desidero - fast-paced and electronic, but great to listen to

-Quien te quiere como yo by Carlos Baute - one of the very best pieces of music ever

-Colgando en tus manos by Carlos Baute featuring Marta Sanchez

-Amarte bien by Carlos Baute

-Quien te dara by Carlos Baute

-Y ahora que by Carlos Baute

Hope you enjoy!

Ahh I love Party in the USA!!!!! I HAVE to dance to it whenever it comes on, even if I'm just like listening to the radio or something :DD

Indie pop is my entire personality

- mxmtoon (try "prom dress," "Falling For U," "fever dream," and "back from the dead")

- Lyn Lapid! (she also made "back from the dead" so if you liked that you just killed two birds with one stone. Also try "Infinite," "Pager," and "In My Mind"

- Chappell Roan (she's honestly just mainstream pop but she's great and we all love her)

- you've probably known me long enough to have already tried Clairo but she did just drop a new album (just putting it out there hehe)

- girl in red ("girls," and "We Fell in Love in October"

- Gracie Abrams (just discovered her but "us." is pretty good!)

- Lana Del Ray ("Diet Mountain Dew" is the only one I really know but that's a good song)

- chloe moriondo ("Dizzy" is my very favorite of her songs)

Also possibly some Taylor Swift? Two of her albums, folklore and evermore, are sort of indie-ish and might be nice. I don't love her pop albums, but you might like 1989 (Taylor's Version), which is good if you like pop. And Midnights, though it can be a tiny bit depressing (but it's nice if you're sad).

Seconding Gracie Abrams, especially The Secret of Us. You could also try out Katy Kirby, my favourite album of hers is Cool Dry Place. And yeah folklore and evermore by Taylor Swift like Seadragon said! In my opinion Midnights is more like regular pop, but it's still very good.
