The first line has five

Heart flutters softly

When my own eyes turn to yours

Blush, then turn away

Echoes in the air

Shadows beckoning to me

I have made my choice

I hear an echo

Of what was once here before

Lost inside my heart

What was there before?

An old, faded memory?

A shadow of thought?

Just ashes remain

But ashes can be used to

Rekindle a fire

Flood Watch

A way to drown in

tears: keep them invisible,

locked inside a heart.

 Cycles

   Slivers of moonlight

Gleaming shadows of the sun

   cycles never ends

You cannot see them

But they will always rotate

 In patterns: a cycle

  They’re never ending

Hate and love, victory, loss

  The world still goes on,

     They are always there,

In the past, present and future,

   They will keep spinning.

           Cycles

Fresh new leaves appear

Bluebirds burst into spring's song

Flowers open up

The hot sun beats down

Berries come, juicy and ripe

The day stretches on

Wind whips through the trees

Red leaves spiral softly down

Crisp apples ready to pick

Snow covers the ground

Snowflakes flutter down gently

A new year has come
