Song-Story Thread:
Basically this thread is for the concept of song-fics. Ever hear a song and it paints a story in your head? Please recommend songs that do that for you, and share your head-cannons/the stories you write based on those songs. I'm also thinking of doing commisions/requests for people who are interested in writing little scenarios for other people's songs here. Leave a comment down below if you're interested in any of this! Please keep things appropriate and civil! :)

Okay so I have about fifty million song-stories to share but here's one that I recently thought of: when I was listening to "Tarantella siciliana" by Pino Villa, it seemed to me to perfectly encapsulate the following (probably it would be good for a scene in a movie, with the music accompanying the images).
A short, round man with small wire-rimmed glasses and a mustache is going on his way to work. He is of a happy, placid, obliging temperament, but unfortunately is very unobservant. He has left the house to board his bus, without noticing that he is still in his pajama pants. From the head to the waist he is dressed immaculately in a bowler hat and a suit jacket; but alas! on his legs are naught but pajamas.
He proceeds on his way to work, encountering mishap after mishap. Paint spills on his coattails; a chicken pecks at his suit jacket; the seat of the bus is sticky and it stains his pajama pants. But he does not notice, and smiles and tips his hat to all who gaze askance, reading his newspaper quite obliviously. Until at length, he bouncily climbs the stairs to his office, a very bedraggled/messy figure with paint stains on his clothes, a pecked hat, and the inevitable pajama pants. And, as the music comes to an end with a flourish, he flings open the door - to encounter his boss. There the scene ends.
It's kind of hard to explain in words the comic effect this could have if it were made into an animation or a short film; I don't know why I thought of it, except that, as I say, it's just the vibe the music gives me. It's so bouncy and repetitive; it just seems like if it were a person, it would be a happy little man who doesn't notice what's gone wrong with his appearance. Try listening to it and see if you agree :)

YES brilliant thread idea! I love doing this, especially when listening to music in the car. A song I've done this for recently:
"Dreams Tonite" by Alvvays. It's not really a story, per se, but this song conjures an image of a girl--maybe around 19, mildly emo--taking the bus to her favorite spot by the ocean. She gets out at a small bus stop on the side of the city street; it's morning, and the sun is peeking through the clouds. There's a rocky little path leading from the concrete on the side of the road down towards a decrepit dock jutting into the water. She sits there all day, just thinking, until the sun starts to dip below the horizon and the water is gray. Then she stands up and goes back to the bus stop to go home. No plot, just vibes.
