prologue 0.1 : the beginning 

the clock chimes midnight, awaking you from your eternal slumber— not so much. you’ve got work to do, and you know it. 

with a sigh, you flip out your notebook and grip your pen tightly, ready to begin writing another essay. but as you flip to the first page, there is a note, paperclipped to the page. 

check your email, and open the first video file you see. sent at 9:58:32 PM. 

your curiosity grows as you flip open your computer and log into your email. sure enough: an email is there. how did they even get access to my computer? you think with confusion. but you open it nonetheless. 

“greetings, traveller of life,” it begins. “i speak to you as cairn celestia, royal assistant to the empress of the enlightened citadel. it is my pleasure to inform you that you are one of the chosen few. her majesty lumine de via requests your presence at whitehaven palace as soon as possible. assuming you agree, transportation will be provided as needed by none other than seraphim lynx kyric, head witch of the enlightened citadel. she has specified that it is of utmost importance that you arrive— else her magick shall be wasted, and that would be quite a shame, would it not? nonetheless: please do arrive. pack all your belongings and simply tap three times on the front door from the inside. and lastly: if you hear a tapping outside your window, disregard it AT ALL COSTS. They do not like to be seen, and They do not like to be recognised. i must go now: and i hope to see you soon.” 

you close the computer, and strangely enough, you do hear a tapping outside your window. just like the person said, though, you ignore it…

there was nothing else to do, was there? 

better get packing, then. 

i will see you there… hopefully.
