Summer is at its peak and the heat burns through the air, turning it dry and bitter. You lean back in your desk chair, too tired to continue doing schoolwork and too hot to do anything else. Suddenly, the fan beside you shutters and falls silent. You kick it once on the side, hoping it will spur it back into action. It doesn’t. You groan and throw an irritated glance at the window and the scorching sunlight pouring in from it.
And then you freeze. Because there’s a letter leaning on your window, as if it’s always been there. You stand and pick it up, turning it over. There is one simple word on the side of the envelope: Open.
You open it. The letter itself is a light blue color and the script is flowery and indigo. You scan the paper, reading:
Hello, CBer!
If you are reading this, then you have been invited to a free stay at Mistwraith Mountain! I, Rex Arcanum, will be your host for your stay. Bring supplies* for an adventure. All you have to do is simply fill out the form below, and transportation will arrive at exactly 4:00 pm on May 3. Food and other accommodations will be taken care of. I look forward to seeing all of you there!

You hesitate for a second before running and fetching a pen. It’s a free vacation, and the ‘Mistwraith Mountains’ sounds like the opposite of the blistering heat here. You fill out the form hastily and put down the pencil, content to wait until the adventure begins.

It’s back! Not sure if anyone remembers the original (only Jaybells and pangolin, probably), but I started this a while ago and almost finished it but never did, so I decided to bring it back! Most of the writing will be from before, with the exception of the later chapters. I will be accepting 20 participants in all, including AEs and CAPTCHAs, which you are of course welcome to bring. Since most of it is written and I just need to adjust it to the new participants, updates will be pretty regular (maybe twice a week?), and I hope you guys enjoy it!
Also, pretty sure you know who I am, but feel free to guess me anyway!

Unpopular opinion?: Beaches are terrible. You get sunburned, chafed, have to wear/see other people wear uncomfortably skimpy clothes, and there's sand. SAND. Sand is literally one of the most annoying things on Earth.
Greatest strength?: Intelligence/creativity and physical prowess
Greatest weakness?: Loner'y-ness/might not clearly explain everything she's thinking, can distract herself easily

Also, you changed your appearance! Last time I saw it, you had long blonde hair instead of blue and pink (which is a superior color combination btw)
I agree with what you said about the beaches; I can handle it a few times a year but no more than that lol. Also have you ever seen the Star Wars prequels? Because your sand comment reminded me instantly of Anakin Skywalker's sand monologue in the Attack of the Clones :)

And OML, everyone always says that. I actually had the same opinion before knowing about Star Wars, but got some major (and very cringey) déjà vu when I saw that scene. XP

Unpopular opinion?: Chocolate is disgusting (both milk or dark), and honestly why are people so crazy about ice cream? It's nothing special.

Appearance: I am slightly taller than average, and have slightly tanned skin and freckles. Thick wavy mid-length red hair just past my collarbone. I have dark eyelashes that frame my slightly narrowed eyes. My eyes are strange- they can be different colors depending on the lighting. They are naturally a blue-green but can appear blue-gray, green, or even purple. For this I will be wearing a black short-sleeved shirt with stars on it that says "Cosmic Star Dust", dark skinny jeans with a brown belt, black hightop converse, and rainbow stripped socks.
Basic personality: I am thoughtful, logical, and quiet, and a self-declared nerd. I am socially awkward, weird, and, admittedly, a bit eccentric. I am an outcast, and am often alone, but rarely lonely. I am often found daydreaming about going on an adventure, writing, drawing, reading, or spending way too much time on school assignments. My number 1 method of procrastination is looking through NASA's 3D exoplanet simulation. I am adventurous, mischevious at times, creative, quick-witted, and have a slighty dark sense of humor.

Unpopular opinion?: School's fun. Especially since I didn't go to school for nearly two years during the pandemic, I really appreciate it now.
