One warm and slightly cloudy day in late August, 15 letters were delivered to different houses across the world to a child between the ages of 14 and 16. The letters were enclosed in crisp olive envelopes and sealed with a wax stamp depicting a sword and a wand crossed behind a book. The letter inside was written in careful cursive on a sheet of parchment:
To Whom it May Concern,
You have been cordially invited to attend Sealock Boarding School this September. Sealock Boarding School specializes in students with arcane abilities. If you accept this invitation, please fill out the attached form. One of your companions may come along. Companions are either a pet or a sibling between the ages of 5 and 13. Companion forms are also attached.

This is a ski lodge-solo write, meaning that it will function like a normal ski lodge, but instead of submitting CBers, AEs, and CAPTCHAs, you will submit characters you make up. Name: Bryn Clove
Age: 15
Gender/Pronouns: Female, she/her
Appearance: Short and small for her age, almond colored skin, dark brown hair usually tied in a low, loose bun, midnight-black eyes.
Personality: Quiet, book-smart, tends to keep her head down, really nice once you get to know her. She is very creative and has lots of ideas but gets tounge-tied in front of large crowds/audiences.
Magical Ability: She can kinda become a ghost, in the sense that she can turn invisible and walk through walls.
Luggage: 1. Her books 2. A bow and arrows 3. a locket with pictures of her, her sister, and her moms 4. extra clothes for her & her sister (below) 5. stationairy and envelopes to write to her moms 6. make-up 7. extra food
Short Backstory: She lived with her two moms and sister in a suburban town in New York. No one could explain her magic powers, and she always felt different from her classmates. When the letter came, she didn't hesitate to fill out the forms.

Personality: Nice, mischevious, likes to joke around and tease people but in a nice-ish way, stands up for his friends, likes to play pranks and stuff, doesn't care much about school work. Cool and popular but really nice and sweet once you get to know him but he hardly ever shows the sweet part.

Name (First and last, please): Gwendalyn (Gwen) Rosewood
Age: 14
Gender/Pronouns: Female, she/her
Appearance: Gwen has straight, dark brown hair that flows to just below her shoulders. Her face is small and pointed at the chin with freckles and her eyes are a pale shade of green. She is slightly thin with nimble legs and arms, but she has slightly longer fingers than normal and enjoys making music with them. She is also tall for her age.
Personality: Gwen is free-spirited and doesn't really care what other people think of her. She prefers to be alone with nature and isn't a big fan of being around people unless she has to. Gwen is often daydreaming or lost in thoughts of her own and has a hard time paying attention to things she is not interested in.
Magical Ability (Please, no mind-reading, future-telling or other psychic abilities please. Only controlling fire, becoming invisible, levitating, etc.): She has a connection to nature. Basically, she has a sense for understanding the trees and plants, and has a talent for caring for them and knowing hidden uses for them. Sometimes, she can even understand some of the animals that are closely bonded with nature, but it is not a guarantee she will be able to do this.

She has grown bonds with the nature kingdom, and she and the forces of nature have each other's backs and support. Nothing has yet become more important to Gwen than her ties with nature.
Other: Gwen is nervous about moving to the new school. She wants to fit in, but thinks that it will be impossible. She is hoping that this is her chance to become the person of her dreams, though, and wants to attend the school so she can learn about why she is different and how to control her abilities even better than before. She has no dietary needs.

Appearance: Yellow and black patterning like a canary, slight twinges of blue on the tops of the wings, slightly larger than a normal song bird, and red streaks of color across the head.
Personality: Much like Gwen, though she is more outgoing and is generally okay with meeting new people. Tweet loves to move and is extremely loyal to Gwen, trying to follow her around wherever she goes.
Relation to Student: Pet
Other: Tends to eat whatever is given to her for a meal. She has a stomach different from any other bird and doesn't have any dietary needs.
