How 2 Draw!
Hey guys! So, I thought it'd be cool to do a How 2 Draw thread. Basically, people could be like, "Can I have some tips on how to draw (name of object)?" You can ask for certain styles too. Then, other people can offer suggestions. To offer a suggestion, grab a piece of paper and draw each step. So if I wanted to show someone how to draw a head, I'd draw a circle next to the number 1, then the next step next to a number 2, and so on and so forth until the drawing was finished. Hopefully, that made sense!
I'm looking for tips on how to draw eyes in a cartoony/anime-like (I guess) style. I guess a sweet-cutesy look, but also professional (ish). Also, I'm looking for tips on hands. Is there really a style for hands? I guess not. Thanks! Have fun!

I need basic skills on people and shading!

Hi! I'd like to stay anonymous for now, because I get self consious about my art, but I do have some advice as well as a few pics.
1. The iris looks really cool if you shade it dark on the top and get lighter and lighter as you go down (see drawings)
2. After you do the shading in the iris, you can add a lot of random shapes and lines to it to make it look cooler
3. MAKE SURE YOU USE AT LEAST 2 HIGHLIGHTS!!!
I hope this helps! I'll add the pics in a different post, sorry if one shows up in this, I tried to delete them. (admin, if it is still there would you mind deleting them? Thanks!)

Here's an eye tutorial I made! If it's not what you're looking for, I could do another one.

I'm not too good at shading, so I don't have many tips there, but I can help you out with drawing bodies! My first tip is to use a line of action. A line of action gives a character’s pose more energy. Think of the line of action as a line running down your character’s spine. Making it curved as opposed to straight gives the pose more force and attitude, whether in a simple standing pose on a more dynamic one. Also, try building poses out of simple shapes! It helps your drawings look more fluid and natural.

I would also like shading, and Win, you are AMAZING at drawing and digital art and poses! I might post a tutorial too, maybe of how I draw faces or hair? Or clothes, but I'm not an expert. Lmk!

How to draw eyes! (inspired by Agent Winter's tutorial) This is much better than I normally do since it's bigger. If you want the steps explained more let me know!

Here's how I draw eyes! (I can't do realistic ones, so I do cartoonish eyes) the one with "shading-ish" was drawn on my drawing app, but the rest was drawn on my animation app so I could duplicate the eyes to put it in the next step. The example is a drawing of my Warriors OC, Flashtail.

Anyone have tips for hands and hair? (hair would mainly be for girls)

Tips for hands!
1. look at your own hands, in their natural position. Note the contours- how do the fingers bend and curve? Do they touch?
2. don't think of hands as hands. Think of them as lines and shapes.
3. hands can be easily simplified or detailed, depending on your art style!

Although I'm not great at hair (or explaining, for that matter) I can try to show you how I do it. So, in steps, this is how I draw hair.
1. (you should already have a face shape) start by drawing 2 parallel lines at the top of the head, coming slightly off the top of the head. Then add long lines with some wave to them coming from the parallel lines.
2. erase the lines of the face from underneath the hair. Then, from the wavy lines, add small hairs all over. From the part (parallel lines) add small lines both inside the part and in the wavy lines.
3. for the bottom of the hair, you basically draw a bubbly triangle and add extra hairs and lines to it.
4. (if coloring) I usually choose a base color and color in the whole thing, then for the part I use a darker version of the base color, and add a few streaks with that shade. Then add a few streaks of a lighter shade for highlights.
