John Williams thread!
So, here is a thread for John Williams music! He wrote so many amazing songs, mostly for movies I think. My personal favorites are the Raiders March, from Indiana Jones, and Hedwig's Therem, from Harry Potter. Who else loves his songs? Also, what do you think Hamilton would be like if John Williams wrote the music and Lin Manuel Miranda wrote the words??? That would be totally crazy.
Jay says *ryrew*. renew your rye? Like, the grain? Do bluebirds eat rye?

My brother is a HUGE fan of John Williams. It would be cool though if Lin-manuel Miranda and John Williams worked together. I don't know much about Hamilton.

I hadn't heard of him, but I just looked him up, and he apparently won a ton of awards: 25 Grammy Awards, seven British Academy Film Awards, five Academy Awards, and four Golden Globe Awards. And not only did he compose the themes you mentioned, but he also composed that Star Wars theme that everyone knows and something from Jurassic Park and Jaws and a whole bunch more... so yeah, he's really impressive.
I don't think Hamilton is his style at all. He seems more orchestral, and Hamilton is very rap-y and hip-hop.

I don't think so, either. That's why I was wondering, and also why I said he should write the orchestra part, and Lin Manuel Miranda would write the words! That would be very interesting.

John Williams has some of the best movie scores, but my favorite score, Pirates of the Caribbean, is actually written by Hans Zimmer. I used to think it was John Williams but apparently I was wrong. I spent the first half of last school year trying to convince my orchestra director to let us play movie scores only for the whole second semester, mostly John Williams. It almost worked, and she did let us play Pirates, which was really exciting for a good 2-3 rehearsals until the pandemic struck and it all got cancelled. I'm hoping that we can still play it next year, and that maybe we can add in some Star Wars and some Hedwig's Theme as well.
