What if we
Chatterbox: Pudding's Place
What if we
What if we could bring Blab About Books to Pudding's place?
I mean, like, write a play that is based on a book.

Ooh, that's a really cool idea! Like a mixture of Inkwell, BaB, and PP. Maybe each CBer writes one scene, and everyone could make whatever edits they think would be best. And then, if anyone is any good at animations, we could actually make it into an animated movie that everyone could see? I don't know if that would work, but I know that Micearenice posted a video once for the CB's 10th anniversary.

oh my gosh yes!!!!!
I want to do that. I've written one screenplay before (a year ago, was it?), it didn't go well, I'm still embarassed whenever I look over it xD
What book would it be, though?

Ehhhh, I'm not much use to write a screenplay or whatevver, but I can animate I guess? XD

That would actually be super fun! I love screenwriting, if this happens I'm totally down.

Sounds cool! I haven't written any screenplays yet either, but I have been wanting to try animation. Any book suggestions?

That would be cool. What book would we do?
(July 12, 2020 - 2:57 pm)
I'm in- I've never done something like this before, but it sounds interesting! @Strawberri, it would have to be something we've all read, right? Or does everyone have access to a library or online library? Hmmm... also it would have to be something apropriate for young CBers such as myself...
(July 12, 2020 - 3:53 pm)
I think it should be a book that a lot of CBers have read. (I suppose you could always read it if you haven't.)
Also should we try to pick a book that hasn't already been adapted for film? Anyone have suggestions?
(If this is even happening. I hope so though.)

I do think it should be a book that has not been adapted for the screen already, if possible, although it would be fine if we really wanted to choose a book that has already been adapted. I really enjoy the Septimus Heap series. It is appropriate for younger CBers, and it should probably be available at a library. I do not think it has been made into a movie yet.
If this happens, what would we do for voice acting, though? Would one person do all the voices? That would probably be the easiest thing, although it might not sound quite as good.

I love the Septimus Heap series too!
I always thought that book 1 could make a great movie. Sounds good with me.

I searched online, and it does not look like there is a Septimus Heap movie.
I admit that I'm still in the middle of book 3.

So is it animated or not? Actually nvm, of course it's animated, we couldn't film ourselves and post in on here, obviously. @PygmyOwl, one person could record the whole thing in one voice, and post it (is that even possible?!) and then everyone could record their part following along wearing headphones? But then we'd need someone who is able to layer recordings and isn't utterly bamboozled by computer programs (me)...
So yes, the easiest way would be for someone to record the thing by themselves. Or the animators could just do a soundless film with subtitles? But it would still be a video and I have no idea how that could be posted...
Another thing would be not to record it, just to write it. But of course, we can't make a shared doc or anything for obvious reasons, so it would need to be written entirely on the CB... which is confusing in itself, though we could make that work. It's just the animation/voices that would be an issue, right?
This turned into a very long ramble. If anyone has anything to add, add it. Also, @Admin, is it even possible to post videos/recordings anyways?
We've only posted one video in the past—we worked with Cricket's webmaster to figure out a way to put it up. It definitely takes some doing, and to level with you everything's trickier during the pandemic. --admin

We could do the voice-overs on video chat. A few profesionial films have done that.
(July 21, 2020 - 3:09 pm)
Looking back, Zoom/Skype/Facetime voice-overs would be a bad idea. A link would be the best solution to get to the Zoom, but Admin wouldn't let us. Oh, and @Admin BTW I totally understand that; Skype and Facetime would use personal info; and altogether these apps aren't that kid-friendly.
