Thread for Growing Artists!
This is a thread for visual artists to post their work, learn from others, and give feedback on others art! You can also ask for inspiration. Any kind of visual art can be posted, not just drawings. Please specify whether you are okay with constructive critism or not, and please be kind with yor feedback. Don't be afraid to post your art because it's "not good enough" or "too weird." This is for artists of any level, and chances are, people will love your art and maybe help you improve it. I shouldn't even have to say this, but your art has to be appropriate.

You say not drawings, so like photos? or stuff like collages? (Or even crafts?)
(June 6, 2020 - 4:10 pm)
she said not just drawings, so you could post pretty much anything
(June 7, 2020 - 4:34 pm)
It can be drawings, and it can also be paintings, photos, collages, crafts, digital art, etc.

So like the Art Posting thread, but specifically for beginners/people who want tips? Nice idea. I might post some of my art at some point. Lmk if y'all want any tips from me.

Not just for begginers, as artists can always improve, but yes. I might post some of my art in which case I would love to here a tip from you, especially if I used markers as I am not yet very experienced at using them and I have noticed your good with them.

Ack, I don't really like this one, the proportions are all off and it has a weird angle, and I maybe when overboard with the fancy designs... bleck, when I first started with the front of the dress it looked alright, if not slightly skewed, but for some reason I used pen, and goodness... you can critique it all you want.

I love the texture and flow! That dress is amazing, and I love how the skirt lifts, giving it motion. The only critiuque that I would give it is that the backround does look a little flat (although I hardly include backrounds, so that better than me) and its a little hard to tell whats happening. I do love how enchanting the flow of the skirt is.

What that's awesome!! I wish I could draw fabric like that

so... if youve noticed, i dont do faces. i can do noses and mouths, but i dont put them cuz faces feel empty without eyes-and i suck at eyes. anyone have any tips? i dont know how to describe my style-i can put a picture of one of my doodles (of me, in fact :3)

I actually like that you don't do eyes. I think it looks cool. Anyways, I'm also terrible at realistic eyes, so I just do simple ones, like a football shape with a circle inside another circle inside the football. I don't know, that's a terrible description. Anyways, wheat I really am posting this for is to say I really like your art style.

awww, thanks so much Lumi! (darn i always want to say Lumi instead of Luminescence)
that means a lot to me, i dont consider myself the best artist, but im SO happy someone likes my art enough to say it! thank you!
(June 10, 2020 - 3:45 pm)
1) you are totally welcome! b) feel free to call me Lumi if you feel the urge too c) I just realized I wrote "wheat" instead of "what"
that's actually kinda funny, especially since I pride myself in not making spelling mistakes

This looks great! I love the color pallette that you chose. facial features can be hard, but I would reccomend trying to add them. I don't know if I can give you much advice in drawing eyes, as I lean towards realism so it might just confuse me, but an eye is basicly an eyeball which you only see a bit of, overlapped with two eyelids (it would be easier to explain with a diagram picture). There are lots of other ways to draw eyes, though, and I would reccomend trying to find one for your style. The clothes are really good, and those shoes are amazing - I CAN'T DRAW SHOES HOW!

Definitely draw eyes and eventually you'll find what works for you! Eyeless or faceless characters can give a mysterious (or background character) effect, which can be useful but you don't always want. I cannot stress this enough : PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT..... Well, actually I'm not sure about the perfect part, the art journey shouldn't ever end, but what I mean is practice!!! A critique for this entire drawing will now ensue, so if you don't want that, stop reading this comment haha :)
The drawing looks soft and cute! I love the floofy look the hair has and the pastel colors. One thing I notice is that it's slanted, and the feet don't seem to be on the same plane. Another thing is that there are more things you are avoiding (don't know if that's quite the right word...) drawing than faces... hands. Maybe you really just wanted to draw a hand in a pocket and one behind the back, but you probably just didn't want to draw hands. I have the same advice as I did for the face, practice :) It's always really helpful in drawing, to break things down into shapes, so make sure to do that if you aren't already.
Sorry for that, it might've been a little too much. Have fun drawing!

thanks.
its slanted because i took the picture with my computer, and im not the best at that. also yes the feet arent on the same plane. idk why. yes, i avoid drawing hands. i try to some times, but its easier to hide them. i have been practicing with eyes and facial features.
may you reveal who you are? Its okay, im not mad or anything. just would like to know.
again, thanks.
