Just out of curiosity, why do people watch television? I don't really understand the reasons, and I really want to know.
I used to watch it, but I suddenly realized I just didn't enjoy it, and it's been so long that I really don't remember what I liked about it. I'm just that weird type of person who has to know the reasons for everything, so can those of you who watch it please tell me why? I hope it's not just one of those things like baseball that I can never understand no matter how hard I try…

Well, mostly (lately, anyway) I watch a handful of shows either for the blatant silliness (Invader Zim), or because I love the characters (every other show that I watch... Life... BtVS... Castle... Firefly...)
I don't watch TV in the usual sense of the word- all we have are movies- and I don't like watching at friends' houses or whatever because I can't stand commercials (well, except the Mac commercials. I love those. "Hello I'm a Mac..." "And I'm a PC..."). So I get them from the library and rip them onto my computer (because iTunes charges like 30 dollars a season... Bleck...)
So Yeah.

Eh.... I'll watch a few shows every once in s while, but some people are kind of addicted to it...... Weird thing to get addicted to, really. But then again, I can't talk. :)
And yes, TNO, iTunes is a rip off.

Oh, I know how you feel, I use to watch it too, but... yah, I pretty much have the same reaction to it as you. :P

It's just enjoyable. I'm not addicted to it, like a lot of people are, but there are shows and movies that I like to watch on it. And if I really have nothing to do, I'll even watch the news with my mom in the kitchen... *shrugs* Different people have different reasons, I guess. :\

I don't really watch TV, it's just something my family decided wasn't necessary. So I mostly watch movies, and occasionally one of those really cool shows like NOVA. Anyone else ever watch that?

I like NOVA, Brynne.

There are a few shows that I watch because of the funny-ness and cheesy-ness in it. I like shows and movies that you learn stuff by watching them. And other stuff that isn't real, it's normally Harry Potter , LotR, or something else like that. I like musicals because of the music. It would be really weird to watch TV every day. I watch TV rarely
P.S. I don't understand baseball either. Or football. I have been to a baseball game before, and I'm going to go to one on the 16th. but that's because it was a prize thing that I didn't pick out.

I watch TV! I don't think there's anything wrong with it, unless you get so addicted you forget about life! This isn't exactly to do with TV, but, there was this one guy, I don't know where, that played a computer game for 3 days and nights. He didn't leave to go to the bathroom, to eat, or anything, and ended up dying right there after the third day. Pretty sad!! :( I am DEFINITELY not that addicted to ANYTHING.
But I still watch TV, but mostly movies, as something to do, or just for the heck of it. And the only sports I watch are basketball and football on TV.

We can watch movies, but we don't have tv. We used to, and my mom would turn it off every summer so we would be outside more. Then we just decided we didn't need it at all. I mean, you can watch basically everything for free on Hulu, so tv was just an expense. So we just get netflix and I occasionally watch an episode of 30 Rock on Hulu.

(September 6, 2009 - 5:02 pm)
Yeah, we get Netflix too. We're on the 2-movie-a-month plan (usually one for the kids and one for my parents).

Well, if I didn't watch TV, I wouldn't ever get to see the occasional episode of Jonas. ;-)

There is one show I could not live without! So You Think You Can Dance! I would die without it! Other than that, I'm fine without TV.
Hey, Emma, I love that show, too! They have the very best dancers! The only thing I don't like about it is when judge Mary screams. But the dancers are awesome!
