Drawing contest!
hey guys! We haven't had one of these in a while, and i thought it'd be fun to bring them back! And if you don't know how it works already, basically, the judge(me, for this round) comes up with a theme and a date for them to be due. Then the judge well, judges the drawings and the winner becomes the new judge! And I don't think there are any rules other than nothing inapropriate and stick to the theme, Lmk if there are others!
and without further ado, the first theme is, drum roll please, Journey! Judging will be february 5! I'm super excited to see your pictures!

Whoops, forgot about this! Sorry I'm late XD
So, in first place, we have LEELI! I love how you interpreted the theme! The armor looks so professional, and the sense of movement is amazing. The pose doesn't look stiff at all. And the texture in the background is awesome! How did you do it? This is such a great entry, and I look forward to seeing more art from you in the future.
In second place, ALIZARINE! This is a really cool piece of art. I love how it looks mysterious and a bit creepy while also looking epic and heroic. The moon is really interesting, I love how it draws your eye without distracting from the character. Great job!
In third place, ALEX! This is so adorable! I love your consistent aesthetic, it's really cute and clean-looking. This captured the theme in a really nice way, it's unexpected but heartwarming. I like your style-- keep drawing!
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Nyx! This came really close to a tie with Alex. This is a great interpretation of the theme, and I love the mysterious nature of the character and the flowy cape. I also like the sense of distance you've created with the grass. I can clearly see the vanishing point, and the texture is really nice. However, the anatomy on the legs could use some work-- I'm not quite sure what the bent one is doing? Also, it would be nice to see a bit more contrast. But, great work! I hope to see more of your art in these contests.
La'Crosse! This is a really clever and cute interpretation of the theme. I love how you do legs and eyes. The anatomy of the upper body could use a bit of work, though. You might look at the neck in proportion to the waist, and the length of the arms in proportion to the legs. Your style is really cute, though, and keep drawing!
Thunder! I really like the level of detail you added on the ship. The smoke gives it a clear sense of movement. The coloring could be a bit more consistent, and the sun is a little out of proportion to the rest of the drawing. Nice job, though!
Nice job, Leeli-- and everyone else, too! Even if you weren't in the top three, you did a great job. I look forward to seeing more art from all of you.
So, @Leeli, you're judging next. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with in the next round!

I am sorry that the sun was not in proportion with the rest of the drawing but it was a 3 and a half by 2 and a half card, I think? I am working on a new one and I will send you a picture of it when I finish it if you want me to.

@Thunder Actually, what I was saying is that the sun in the drawing is larger than the sun would be in relation to the boat in real life. Sorry if I wasn't clear. But I'd love to see your new version!

Ahh, thank you so much! Good job everyone!
The new them is flight. Take it how you will. I'll try to judge on March 20, but if there aren't enough entries I'll extend it.

Hello~! I do have a question. Is it possible to submit an entry without coloring it? Like all pencil or charcoal pencil?
(February 26, 2020 - 7:56 pm)
That's what I did for the last round, so, probably.
