Musical Appreciation Thread: Who else absolutely loves Hamilton? For me at least it is most definitely up there as one of my favourite musicals of all time.
What's your thoughts on the show? I was thinking we could turn this thread into a Musical Appreciation Club because we all need that in our lives (or at least I do).
What is your favourite song from any musical and why?
I absolutely love Guns and Ships (Daveed Diggs is everything I want to be XD).

I haven't seen it, but 2 of my classmates are completely obsessed (they also treat a stick like a child-but that's not important) with it. They told me all of it. I love The Schuylar Sisters (duh) and My Shot (is that what it's called?).
My Top 3 Favorite Musicals Are...
3. Hamilton!
2. School of Rock!
1. WICKED!!!

I haven't seen Wicked, but I love the songs Popular and Defying Gravity. I haven't seen Hamilton either, but I love it. Have you seen any live musicals?

I saw Hamilton for the first time in the beginning of December, and since then all I've listened to is Hamilton and Heathers. I walked out of the show thinking that my favorite song was The Room Where It Happens, but now I love The Battle Of Yorktown and Dear Theodosia the best.

xD I wish you could've been here when Hamilton came out--the CB was covered in Hamilton threads!
I wouldn't say I'm a Hamilfan, but I do enjoy the songs! A lot of them are really catchy.

I totally agree with Coroline about Wicked!!

I LOVE Hamilton! I haven't seen it, but I've listened to the soundtrack a ton of times and have every song memorized, I think. My favorite song is either The Battle of Yorktown, Guns and Ships, or Wait for It. Story time: My Social Studies teacher is a Hamilton fan, too, so she played Guns and Ships for us in class, so we could analyze it and relate it to what we were learning, and then she played it again so we could sing along, and I rapped the whole thing. It was great. Has anyone seen it live?

Ooh! Me! Me!
I love Hamilton and am sad because I have the whole thing memorized, but it's not "cool" at my school anymore. I love Guns and Ships too, my friend can rap it faster than Daveed Diggs. Speaking of Daveed Diggs, I saw it at the Kennedy Center (because I live near DC and my whole family likes it so why not), and when the guy playing Jefferson came out, I actually thought, where's the hair poof? :)
My favorite song is all of them.

I love Hamilton! Not as much as some of you, I’m sure, but I’ve listened to the soundtrack many times. It’s one of few musicals I know, and of even fewer that I like. I have a couple of favorite songs; I really love My Shot, Satisfied, Wait For It and Dear Theodosia, and if I thought about it any longer I’d probably remember five more.

Ooh, yes! I'm so a Hamilfan. There's a chance that Guns and Ships might be my favorite song as well, or maybe it's Right Hand Man. Maybe Aaron Burr, Sir. In fact, there are really only two musicals I really love: Hamilton and Dear Evan Hanson. It's a little scary that I've listened to the Hamilton soundtrack at least three full times, continuously, and if you add that to the songs I've listened to seperately I've probably spent like maybe 9 to 12 hours listening to Hamilton.
I would love to see either of them.
Also, just wanna remark that I rather dislike Wicked. The songs are fine, though not much to my taste. However, the very premise of the story completely contradicts Oz canon established by L. Frank Baum. Like, entirely. *shrugs* But if you're not an Oz fan than I guess you'd never notice... Not many people have read the other Oz books, to be fair.

That's an interesting point about the Oz books, actually. I've read them all and I also happen to love Wicked. I feel like you just have to take the discrepancy between Wicked and the Oz canon with a grain of salt; Wicked seems to be based off an Oz purely from the first book/the movie The Wizard of Oz. But I totally understand disliking it.
I like almost every musical ever, including Hamilton (I also have all the lyrics memorized), Dear Evan Hansen, Heathers and School of Rock.

(Oh, I also love The Room Where It Happens.)
