Chatterbox: Pudding's Place
On the thirteenth day of the thirteenth month, thirteen letters were sent to thirteen people. They were written directly from somewhere . . . unknown. Why? Well, the question should rather be ‘Why not?’
The letter contained the following.
To whom it may concern,
You have been selected to come to the Golden Harbor palace. You may bring any companions you may have (Alter Egos, CAPTCHAs, pets, etc.). You luggage must fit in a single backpack (provided). Weapons are allowed, so are magically minimized items.
If you would like to come to the Golden Harbor palace, go to the golden cruise liner at Golden Harbor, on the thirteenth day of the first month. Anything you leave behind will not be transported. Weapons are provided upon request. So is popcorn.
No need to pay - it’s free. That’s why so many people want this letter. Take care of it. If you don’t have it, you’ll be left behind on the journey . . . potentially floating face-down in the water.
Happy travels. Fill out the form below if you would like to join. If you don’t, you’ll appear floating face-down anyway.

The receiver of this strange letter flipped it over, and amazingly, a backpack appeared in front of them. It was golden, with opaque white embroidery in swirling patterns. Also, on the other side, there was the aforementioned form.

The receiver was a bit - more than a bit - intimidated by the threats, and decided to fill the form out . . . and bring lots of weapons.

I think I'm the murderer, I wouldn't trust myself after Saturday (Ty and I were carving pumpkins and we got the food dye out... it looked like we killed someone. Especially since we got dye on the carving knives and all over our hands)

“And this is the Golden Palace!”
Anna oohed and ahhed with the rest of the CBers, AEs, and CAPTCHAs. It was just amazing! Their host, Whisperrrrr, now revealed to be RX1NB0W, had finally revealed their destination - the Golden Palace. It was beautiful, with towering spires, and bubble columns. It shone with light, and the plant life under the sea was flowing with the current, along with some land animals traveling in bubbles, being corralled by mermaids.
They walked inside, and Anna couldn’t believe her eyes. There was a grand hall, with shimmering chandeliers, exotic floral decorations, and more merpeople. There was a warm current that carried them through a hallway, a ballroom, down another hallway, and into a corridor. There were round doors - seashells.
RX1NB0W threw open one of the doors, and they all peered inside. There was a single round bed, with comfy, fluffy sheets, and an assortment of fluffy pillows. A nightstand, with a porcelain vase, with coral that was about to float into the air. A mirror, bathroom, and rug.
“All of your rooms are like this! Visiting is prohibited, for safety reasons.”

“Hey Anna!”
Anna looked up to see a figure in the hall. “Oh, hi!”
“Listen, I need to tell you something.”
Anna perked up. “I need, something. Something really important. Something that’s worth killing for.” They told them what that something was.
Anna gasped, and had to stop from shrieking. “So, you’re the murderer, for this . . . cause?”
“Yes. Will you help me?”
“I’ll help you.”

The dining hall was warmly lit, with the chatter of many other merpeople. Dinner had just been finished, and dessert was being served. Jarnen was curled up in his chair, reading a book. “Cake? Ugh, this is the worst cake ever. Have they never heard of moistness?”
Jarnen looked up. There was a blinding pain between his eyes, and all of a sudden, he found them. The murderer. The speaker. His eyes shifted from the murderer, to Anna, who was sitting beside them. Anna looked at him. Her eyes met his, and there was a cold steel there. Then, her gaze passed.
“I’ve gotta go to the bathroom,” Jarnen muttered to Leafpool.
“Kay,” said Leafpool, who was devouring a piece of treacle tart.
Jarnen hurried out of the hall, and headed to find his room - the one place of safety. Before he could get there, he was shoved against the wall by someone he never expected - Anna. “Wha-”
Jarnen couldn’t breathe - Anna was choking him. “Don’t tell who. I don’t know how you’re a seer, must be why I’m a sort of minion. I could kill you if you tell. Nobody would believe you, anyway.”
Anna gave a wry laugh. “Don’t tell.”
And then she disappeared back to the dining hall.
