I keep waiting for better lighting and then forgetting, so I've given up now. Highly edited photo #1, prompt of Angular.

And then the same day I did a cat to convince myself I could still draw.

I'm really happy with this one, apart from the hands. And maybe some of the fire a little.

Yesterday was the first day I completely missed. Here's the sketch, I might finish it later.

I find that a good way to take pictures of art (in the absence of a scanner) is to put the paper flat against a wall, vertically. It prevents glare and shadows. Also, doing it from farther away can get rid of some glare, and then you can crop it. The only downside to that is a slight loss to quality, but pictures posted on the CB lose some quality anyway, so if that's all you need the picture for I think it's worth it.

When taking pictures of art you just need to make sure you have an even light source. I've found that natural light works best, so whenever possible I do it outside or near a window. I prefer lying my pieces horizontally to take photographs because drawings become skewed very easily if the camera is not perfectly parallel to the drawing. Always compare your photograph to the original to make sure it isn't distorted!

Oh! All those look really good! Your style is nice and smooth. I cannot describe it any other way, so please do not hate me for the typical weird and totally ambiguous phrasing of 'describing' your style.

"Oh, it's so NOW (As opposed to THEN?) And, so expressive (What, rather than impassive? "Oh, I'm sorry dear, your style is just so UNEMOTIONAL") and, uh, some other random word that has nothing to do with your actual style!" Just the usual fluttery ambiguous art talk that flutters around the point like a moth desperately wanting to stay close to the flame, but, of course, not quite close enough to catch fire with passion and in so doing actually describe the style. Because, that just, it wouldn't be, well, RIGHT. We're not here to describe things, we're here to hold clipboards and look smart. Also, if we really feel up to the challenge, acting as coathangers. Just here for decoration. Don't look at us, we're to add to the ambience! What do you mean that's not a good reason?! That flowery lamp is here for the same reasona and no-one's telling him off for it!

Sorry, that rambled off the garden path, past the hedge, and into the metaphorical hunting grounds. Let's put this comment down before it does any more harm. It's really a kindness to all involved. Don't cry, Margerate, we're putting it out of its misery. *BANG!* Okay, it's gone. You can look now. What do you mean it's not dead! I'm sure I - Oh wait, you're right. Let's kill it now, shall we? Don't worry, the knife'll be quicker.

Moving on.

The cat is so stylized and angular and CUTE! So cute! Okay! TOP!

Wow, Viola, those are all super duper good! I especially love the scorched one, the crosshatching shadows are really cool.

This is for muddy. I don't know why removing the rest of my last name made it smudged, but then again I don't use the Photos retouching thing very much.

This is for expensive, and I almost decided not to post it because I really don’t like it much at all?? I’m not really sure where I was going with it and I could’ve done better, but whatever, at least I finally got something done.

And here’s muddy. I like it a lot, and I feel like it came out pretty good.
