On Monday I'm

On Monday I'm auditioning for a play so entitled "King Arthur's Quest". There are so many different versions of King Arthur stories, hopefully it won't be one of the bad ones. It's an open audition where they have you play theatre games and stuff to decide who gets in. First through twelfth graders can audition. It's a Missoulli Children's Theatre thing, so they'll have rehersals every day for the rest of the week, then, on Saturday, the show. So it should be kind of amature, though it is my first play. I really hope I get in. Like I said, you don't have to do a monologue or song or anything (though I do have several prepared). I hope I get in, though.

Thank you guys so much! I did get in (everyone who tried out did, there were a lot of roles) but I got a major part! I play Taliesin the bard, Merlin's friend. We had rehersals for major people (that's me!) half an hour after the auditions were over. I don't think I've ever eaten so fast in my life.

Anyway.....I have a sort of a lot of lines. Not too many, not too few, and they're relatively short.

See, Merlin's magic doesn't work. His solution for everything is to transform things. So, whenever he tries to transform something, Taliesin pretends to get transformed (i.e, hamster, frog, statue, ect.). In the end, he tells Merlin, who's thankfully okay with it.

It's a good play. I'm really looking forward to more auditions. I'll keep you updated!

"I'll transform you into a rabbit!!"

I auditioned for that play too!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad you aren't in CA, we could have met!!!!! I didn't get in though... It was my first audition, so I'm not too bummed, except, my awful neighbor got the part of the Raven... ARG!!!!!!

I wonder, did you have the same people do the audition??? I had David something or other, and someone else that I can't remember... they both looked really familiar.

Ooh, what number where you? I was 190...

Hee hee this is FUN!!!!!!! And REALLY weird.

Ooh, did they say this: Did you hear about the circus in town? It was intense/in tents.

Oh, and did they ask is grape nuts was a cereal or nuts???

Ok, enough quotes.

Oh, but they had me say "Look! A dragon!!" Ah... I suppose it's for the best that I didn't get in... I would have survived working with "the raven".

Still, it's not fair!!! :)

Hey, another Julia! Cool! Also, great job getting in. Missoulli Children's Theatre came here too. Some of my friends auditioned, and some got in. It sounds like fun!

*sniff* It's over!!!! *sobs*. At the end of one of the best weeks of my life, we had two amazing performances on a real stage. The set was so cool, and the costumes were....were....*struggles to find a good enough word* fantasmical! Yeah! (In case you're wondering, that's a word I made up.) My costume had these sort of baggy brown pants, a sort of genuine-looking peasant/medival ages yellow tunic, an awesome floppy brown barrette, and an AMAZING red vest tunic. IT WAS SO COOL!!! THe guy who played Merlin was awesome, he did this funny accent and everything and hobbled around. I had my own song. In the second scene, I have this really cool entrance where I skip onstage, singing

"La la la la la la la la la la

In an English country garden."

BAM!

Will continue to do Missoula Children's Theatre plays! They ROCK!

Oh yah, so it was a musical? I wasn't sure, because at the audition, they didn't have anyone sing, and I thought, what if they get awful singers? Or do they want it to sound strange?

I'm sure you have a beautiful voice, I was just thinking, by the sound of some of the people at mine, you would think the play would be horrible!!! (no offense people)

Did you get a certificate of participation???

Laura! OMG! *grabs and hugs* You're amazing! Yes, all the quotes you said, yes yes yes! It was David and Jon, by the way. Oh, and the part of the raven was kinda dumb. Here, wait, I'll put it into perspective.

David: "Look, she has her lines memorized! NOw, what are they?"

Raven: "Caw Caw! Nevermore!"

David: "And the other one?"

Raven: "Eromreven. That's nevermore backwards."

David *high fives her* "Good job!"

And literally, those are the only lines she says in the ENTIRE PLAY. She says Caw caw nevermore like, every other person's line. Also, she follows ME around. All the time. Yeah.
